A Brief Overview
The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for professionally interacting with team members and community members to support the Director of Community Health Engagement.
Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Education, Public Health or related field. Required
  • Master's Degree Business, Education, Public Health or related field. Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • 3 years Full time experience in project or grant management. Master's degree may substitute for work experience. Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Exhibit strong organizational and planning skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local community organizations and resources. (Required proficiency)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and audiovisual equipment. (Required proficiency)
  • Health related experience. (Preferred proficiency)
  • Spanish language (preferred fluency) (Preferred proficiency)

What you will do

  • Manage multiple department projects and events, including monthly Walk With a Doc in Topeka and Junction City, bi-annual Welcome Baby Jubilees, hospital tours, fairs, and community volunteer opportunities.
  • Assist in tracking community benefit using internal spreadsheets.
  • Assist with Community Health Needs Assessments, Community Health Improvement Plans, and Hospital Implementation Plans in Shawnee and Flint Hills communities.
  • Complete detailed assignments related to the SVH strategic plan community priority, monitoring deadlines to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner, and tracking data to ensure individual project outcomes are met.
  • Reflect Stormont Vail Health core values in all areas of involvement, promoting a positive image in the community and within the organization.
  • Attend meetings, listen effectively, demonstrate teamwork, and communicate in a timely manner across departments and with community members, gathering expectations to help define and complete projects.
  • Generate meaningful reports to track progress using required forms or developing spreadsheets.
  • Liaison to Marketing and Communication Department to coordinate media and communication strategies related to community engagement projects.
  • Work with the Director of Community Engagement to monitor project performance and workflow, analyze data and offer input on resource gaps to improve efficiency and effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and expanding strategic community partnerships.
  • As a representative of the hospital, attend and participate in occasional community activities and health fairs outside of regular working hours.
  • Assist with department purchasing and processing of invoices for accounts payable.
  • Coordinate schedules, arrange meeting rooms, prepare meeting minutes and draft correspondence.
  • Update department related SharePoint sites in a timely manner. (Community Volunteer Opportunities, Community Engagement Department, and Mobile Clinic Calendar)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements

  • 10% Travel to Stormont Vail locations as needed.
