Purpose of Job:
The Communications Partner, Field role works within the Talent Engagement team to create and execute communication plans to support various programs and projects the business. Specifically, this role will be focused on building and executing the communications strategy for our growing field Team Member population in our Interstate-Owned Territories (IOTs).
Job Components
- Partner with IOT Senior Leadership team by defining and implementing a field communications strategy to increase understanding and employee contribution towards the company strategic priorities.
- Provide thought leadership and recommendations to IOT Senior Leadership Team in efforts to plan, develop and implement communications campaigns focused on the field Team Member experience and delivered through a variety of channels.
- Support the internal communications strategy for corporate and Field Team Members that’s aligned with Interstate Batteries’ Purpose and by utilizing available internal and external resources.
- Create memorable, engaging communications programs to drive awareness of Interstate’s strategic priorities and inspire Field Team Members to take action.
- Support executives with message development appropriate for the Field Team Member audience.
- Generate content for new and existing company communications channels to achieve specific communication objectives.
- Coordinate with Communications team peers to share and leverage content through multiple channels.
- Create presentations, scripts, talking points, videos and other materials for events and announcements.
- Gather and report metrics for Field Team Member communication channels and campaigns. Identify/act on opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain editorial ownership of all content created, following style and brand guidelines.
- Study communication trends and recommend new techniques to share news and information in ways that engage and inspire stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in corporate communications with progressively increasing responsibilities managing communications projects. Experience supporting a dispersed workforce preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, public relations, journalism or related field.
- Proven ability to build and implement strategic communications plans and measure the results.
- Exceptional communication skills with experience in writing a variety of materials, including communication plans, talking points, speeches, features, online content, promotional copy, etc.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Assertive and resourceful with demonstrated ability to get things done.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across all levels of the organization, external agencies and partners.
- Collaborative team player who can work both independently or in a group setting.
- Experience with Poppulo communications platform, Canva and video production.

Work Environment
- Up to 50% travel may be necessary.
- Hybrid presence in office, minimum 3 days per week.

- Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
