The Communications and Marketing Specialist II will support and execute Louisville Athletics’ digital marketing efforts with a focus on driving fan engagement and revenue generation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of digital marketing platforms and customer journeys and will leverage multiple channels to optimize communication touchpoints, support campaign goals and enhance the overall fan experience.
This position will report to the Director of Digital Marketing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Build and execute customer journeys across digital platforms for assigned sports and campaigns in alignment with department strategy.
Develop email marketing efforts to deliver timely, relevant, and engaging information to stakeholders.
Assist in maintaining the department’s email calendar by tracking requests and content approvals.
Track email metrics to report successes and optimization opportunities for future campaigns.
Support execution across additional areas of the digital marketing ecosystem, including SMS, the mobile app, and digital advertising, and contribute to delivering personalized content across platforms.
Assist in the copywriting, editing, and proofreading for emails, text messages, app push notifications, and website landing pages.
Update select fan experience and ticket sales-related content on GoCards.com.
Collaborate with internal units including Ticket Sales & Service, Ticket Operations, Development, Strategic Communications, and Creative Services to ensure timely delivery of communications and internal alignment on messaging.
Assist in supervising and mentoring undergraduate interns or student workers as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to work assigned home games and special events as needed.
Graduate degree with an emphasis in marketing, business, or sport administration
Skilled and comfortable with copywriting for various marketing channels
Experience in digital media, interactive marketing, or creative services required
Experience with a large-scale email service provider required
Understanding of audience segmentation and engagement
Experience with a coding language (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Sports or entertainment work experience preferred.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
