ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Communications & Marketing Senior Associate will manage assigned communications and marketing projects for projects across the Aspen Digital portfolio, with a focus on email marketing, website design and maintenance, and cross-team coordination. The successful candidate will be high performing, collaborative, and detail oriented, and enjoy balancing concurrent communication and operational tasks.

This position will report to the Director of External Engagement & Communications at Aspen Digital. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000. This is a hybrid, Washington, DC-based position. Selected candidates are expected to work in person at the Washington, DC office approximately two days per week.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Play a key role in developing a communications and marketing strategy for Aspen Digital, including for specific campaigns around public-facing summits, and execute implementation under supervision of Director, including:

    • Liaise with project teams to coordinate creation of content and timeline for delivery.

    • Publish new entries and blog posts on website.

    • Update website and maintain accuracy.

    • Improve overall website design and feel.

    • Coordinate timely creation of marketing materials for events.

  • Collaborate in developing and executing strategies for Aspen Digital’s websites and email marketing, specifically:

    • Maintain accurate email list segmentation.

    • Develop and draft email marketing copy.

    • Do content testing and track performance analytics.

  • Assist in scoping and managing of relevant vendors, including web development.

  • Liaise with stakeholders inside and outside the Institute to coordinate regular communications and marketing materials for events.

  • Support Aspen Digital’s Director of External Engagement & Communications in identifying and tracking annual, 6-month, and quarterly objectives/KPIs for website and email communications, and share responsibility for meeting them.

  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO THRIVE

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in communications and marketing;

  • Excellent track record of working on communications and marketing campaigns, specifically on email communications, website design, and branding.

  • Skilled in Search Engine Optimization and web accessibility.

  • Strong organization and project-management skills, including ability to juggle multiple projects without losing attention to detail and quality, engaging with stakeholders, and consistently meeting deadlines;

  • Excellent copywriting and copyediting skills;

  • Skilled in Marketing Cloud or similar platform communications systems;

  • Knowledge of media database systems for research and outreach;

  • Be operations savvy, with a focus on detail and quality.

  • Be proactive and self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;

  • Ability to form professional relationships with people across departments and levels of seniority;

  • Have strong interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience overseeing or working on longer term communications campaigns.

  • Experience in marketing for large events or Summits.

  • Familiarity or interest in AI, cybersecurity, and emerging technology.
