We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Communications Manager to join Swift’s team in Tysons Corner, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing global strategic communication plans that enhance Swift’s reputation in the Americas, driving key messaging across multiple channels. This role will require a strong background in communications, media relations, public affairs and content development, along with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams. This role is hybrid, requiring two days a week in our Tysons Corner office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Communications Development: Create and implement integrated communications strategies that align with company's objectives and enhance brand identity.
  • Media Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers. Pitch story ideas, coordinate interviews, and manage press releases.
  • Content Creation & Management: Write and edit external communications materials including press releases, blogs, social media posts, and talking points.
  • Crisis Communications: Manage communications during crisis situations, ensuring a consistent and effective message is delivered to customers and other stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with public affairs, marketing, business development, product teams and PR agencies to ensure cohesive messaging and promote the company's initiatives and goals.
  • Events: Help coordinate external speaking engagements and ensure company representatives are prepared and aligned with corporate messaging.
  • Multi-tasking: Juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in communications or public relations, with a focus on media relations and content development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling messages.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Experience with crisis communications and media relations.
  • Experience in technology or financial services communications.
  • History of working as a team player with strong networking skills, building trusted relationships with colleagues across the business as well as media and other external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with media monitoring tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of business and political issues impacting the global financial community.
  • Experience working in a corporate environment, government agency or PR agency.
  • Experience working with a globally distributed team.
  • Proficiency in second language, preferably Spanish.

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is $85,820 MINIMUM to 159,380 MAXIMUM. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Our compensation packages include a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity for all employees contingent on personal and company performance.
