Help to shape and implement Cochlear’s global corporate communications strategy. As the Communications Manager, you’ll play a key role in strengthening Cochlear’s brand reputation, engaging audiences, and promoting the importance of hearing to people’s overall health and well-being.

The Opportunity

Cochlear has an opportunity for a full-time Communications Manager based in our Sydney, Macquarie global headquarters. In this role, the successful Communications Manager will implement strategies to enhance Cochlear’s brand reputation, engage global audiences, and support corporate communication objectives through effective project management and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the development of global communications strategies in line with growth objectives.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align communications initiatives.
  • Ensuring consistent alignment with the Cochlear brand and global strategies.
  • Managing project delivery within budget and time constraints.
  • Using data and analytics to optimise communications for greater impact.
  • Developing and delivering effective communications projects, materials and tools covering product, corporate, employee, awareness and general communications fields, across a range of channels and to a range of audiences. 
  • Implementing Cochlear’s communication strategies to advance and protect the company’s brand reputation and promote products and services, supporting efforts to drive global sales and revenue.
  • Leverage data and insights to optimise communications, ensuring that initiatives not only enhance brand reputation but also contribute to market growth and sales performance.

About You. As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential:

  • 5-7 years of communications and media relations experience.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or other relevant backgrounds.
  • Experience in marketing within healthcare, consumer, or technology sectors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through credible actions.

Ideal:

  • Regional or global marketing/corporate communications experience, especially in a matrixed organisation.
  • Experience with change management or behaviour change programs.
  • Understanding of medical device advertising/promotional guidelines
  • Experience with crisis/issues management communications
