The role
As Senior Communications Manager, you’ll play a key role in helping our people understand, connect with and support Vector’s strategic direction. Working across the business, you’ll translate complex priorities, initiatives and change into clear, engaging internal communications that build understanding, alignment and enthusiasm.
You’ll work closely with leaders and teams across Vector to understand key initiatives, shape meaningful messages and help employees connect with our direction. You’ll also contribute across the wider Communications and PR team, including participating in the media on-call roster and responding to media enquiries when rostered, and providing communications support in a crisis.
This is an opportunity to have visible impact at an important time for Vector, as we embed a new strategy and continue supporting Auckland’s growth, electrification and decarbonisation. You’ll join a highly capable communications team, inherit a major new internal communications platform to shape, and work in a sector that plays a critical role in New Zealand’s energy future.
Please note: this role is available on a full time, fixed term basis for a period of one year.

We are New Zealand's largest distributor of electricity and gas, owning and operating networks which span the Auckland region. But we don’t stop here - our reach extends to Australia and the Pacific Islands, shaping a new energy future for our customers, through innovative digital and engineering solutions, metering services, solar energy solutions, electric vehicle (EV) networks, high speed internet fibre, air and water purification to name a few.
