Your Role & Responsibilities

As Communications Manager (f/m/d), you will be responsible for internal and external communications at B&R – a member of the ABB Group – and play a key role in enhancing our market position. In this role, you will combine strategic planning with active execution – from media relations and content creation to events and internal communications. Working closely with international teams, you will serve as a central point of contact for impactful communications within the ABB Group.

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

The work model for the role is: Eggelsberg (Upper Austria) or Salzburg with 10 home office days a month

  • Communication strategy & advisory: Develop and implement an integrated communication strategy in close collaboration with R&D, Marketing & Sales, aligned with ABB’s global communication framework.
  • Content, customer communication & media relations: Create, adapt and distribute content (e.g. press releases, articles, executive speeches, social media) and ensure targeted customer communication. Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media partners.
  • Internal communications & events: Support change initiatives and leadership communications, and plan and execute communication activities around international trade fairs, conferences and employee events.
  • Monitoring & execution: Analyze media coverage and communication KPIs, derive recommendations for improvement, and ensure high-quality execution of projects and initiatives.

What it takes to Run what runs the world

  • Several years of professional experience in corporate communications
  • Extensive background in both strategic planning and operational execution
  • Knowledge of digital media, project management and modern communication tools
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed environment
  • A practical, solution-oriented mindset, structured way of working and a cooperative team attitude
  • Professional and polished demeanor in a global business setting
  • Proficient German and English skills, both written and spoken (minimum C1 level)

The minimum compensation, in accordance with the electrical and electronics industry collective agreement, is 4,762.59 EUR monthly for a full-time position as of May 2025. But we would be happy to speak in person about your compensation package in relation to your qualifications and experience!
