Daikin Applied is seeking a Communications Manager – Enterprise Storytelling & Channels to lead how the company communicates its most important business and culture priorities across the organization. 

This role is responsible for ensuring employees understand where the company is headed, what matters most and how its strategic initiatives support Daikin Applied's long-term success. Partnering with Communications team members and partners across the business, this individual will shape how the company tells its own story directly to key audiences. The successful candidate will be equal parts strategist and practitioner, combining exceptional writing and content expertise with a strong editorial mindset. They will own Daikin Applied’s internal communications channels, developing audience-first channel and editorial strategies that drive engagement and business impact. This role is responsible for editorial planning, content governance, publishing cadence, distribution, and cross-channel amplification, ensuring content reaches the right audiences through the right channels at the right time. This role requires strong business acumen, exceptional editorial judgment and the ability to translate complex business strategies into relevant, compelling communications that resonate with employees. 

 

Think of this role as the organization's chief dot connector. This individual will understand the company's priorities, identify connections across initiatives and uncover the stories, milestones and moments that reinforce business objectives. They will be forward-thinking, helping define how to best reach the right audiences with the right story at the right time, identifying gaps and identifying new platforms and formats that will contribute to broader company success.  Working closely with Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Marketing and leaders across the enterprise, this role will help create a more intentional and coordinated communication experience that supports business outcomes and advances company priorities . This role is part of the Marketing organization and reports to the Director of Corporate Communications. Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor!

What you will do: 

  • Set vision and governance for owned internal communications channels, ensuring a cohesive, company-wide ecosystem that tells one unified story Partner with communications team and business leaders to embed storytelling into all communications strategies
  • Develop integrated storytelling plans that connect company strategy to meaningful employee communications and experiences
  • Identify and prioritize stories, milestones, innovations, customer wins and business achievements that reinforce enterprise priorities and strategic goals
  • Own the enterprise communications calendar, ensuring communications are coordinated, intentional and aligned with business objectives
  • Determine which initiatives warrant enterprise visibility and develop communication approaches that maximize reach, relevance and impact
  • Lead strategy and governance for internal communication channels, including the intranet, email, town halls, digital workplace platforms and emerging channels
  • Establish channel standards, publishing practices and governance frameworks that improve communication effectiveness and consistency across the organization
  • Partner with leaders and stakeholders across the business to shape communication plans and increase visibility around strategic initiatives
  • Provide strategic counsel on audience targeting, communication timing, message prioritization and channel selection
  • Help reduce communication noise by aligning messaging, coordinating communications activity and maintaining focus on enterprise priorities
  • Evaluate communication effectiveness through analytics, employee feedback and channel performance insights, using data to continuously improve outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to modernize internal communications and strengthen the employee communication experience
  • Collaborate closely with Communications business partners to ensure functional communications align with broader enterprise priorities and messaging

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, content strategy, journalism, marketing communications or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to develop communication strategies that support enterprise objectives and measurable business outcomes
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex topics and create compelling narratives
  • Strong editorial judgment and the ability to identify the stories, priorities and messages that matter most to employees and the business
  • Experience managing communication platformscontent planning calendars and  governance processes
  • Proven ability to influence and advise senior leaders and stakeholders across functions
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands
  • Experience using analytics, audience insights and employee feedback to optimize communication effectiveness and channel performance
  • Experience developing communications across multiple channels, including email, intranet, digital platforms, video and leadership events
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading enterprise storytelling, editorial strategy or internal channel management within a complex organization
  • Experience supporting large-scale business transformation, growth initiatives or enterprise strategic priorities

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $90,00k - $153,300k and a bonus potential up to 10%. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
