COMMUNICATIONS HEAD
Are you a strategic and visionary professional with a strong background in the Communications area within the pharmaceutical industry? Takeda, a global leader in the field of healthcare, is seeking an exceptional Communications Head to Lead our Iberia Communications Team. JOB FUNCTION:

  • Develop, implement and communicate integrated Communications Takeda's reputation.
  • Embed the patient perspective across the organization by partnering with Spanish media organizations, lobby, etc on mutual respect and transparency.
  • Position Takeda as a recognized patient centric company in the therapeutic areas.
  • Partner with EUCAN Communications and Policy to ensure alignment of mission and vision across Takeda.
  • Coordinate, align and partner with Corporate Affairs OBU team to ensure effective One Takeda approach.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Takeda operating procedures and relevant industry regulations including the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) Code of Practice.


ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Public Affairs

  • Lead external engagement with multiple in close coordination and alignment with PVA and Corporate Affairs Directors and Direct Report Team .
  • Represent in industry leadership forums, external advocacy organizations and at any other meetings/conferences.
  • Embed effective stakeholder management strategies within the organization and maintain regular communication to bridge strategy gaps and allow for effective execution of plans.


Communications

  • Build, strengthen and protect Spanish Takeda reputation in line with Takeda's values and strategy by effectively executing external communication campaigns.
  • Support outward facing functions such as Medical, Marketing, and Market Access to communicate scientific updates, projects and any kind of activities in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Lead the press office function, acting as first point of contact for media enquiries related to Takeda Spain issues.
  • Serve as liaison with EUCAN Communications to ensure local strategy is aligned with regional objectives.
  • Develop and execute internal communication campaigns to build employee engagement and to foster PTRB/people centric culture within Takeda team.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders, including senior leadership to ensure that Iberia aspiration, business strategy and priorities are communicated in a clear, well-thought-out manner to all employees.
  • Facilitate and support awareness of brand guidelines for appropriate brand management, in compliance with Takeda corporate branding.
  • Lead communications response for issue management processes, aligning with EUCAN Communications and other functions/ BUs, as appropriate. Develop appropriate monitoring and response systems (e.g. media/ social media).


Other aspects

  • Promote, encourage and demonstrate commitment to Takeda-ism philosophy and values
  • Communicate any adverse reaction as soon as it is identified to the Pharmacovigilance Department as detailed in the company's internal procedures
  • Act according to Corporate, Compliance, Ethical codes and Legal standards


REQUIREMENTS:
Education:

  • University degree, PHD,MBA or equivalent
  • Spanish/English mandatory.
  • 10+ Years in Pharma Industry or relevant Governmental or Patient Umbrella Institutions/Organizations
  • Proven track record in patient advocacy relations, communications and social media
  • 3+ years of Leadership experience


Experience, Skills and Knowledges:

  • Understanding of key trends in both internal and external environment with an impact on advocacy group engagement
  • Understanding of the needs and behaviors of a broad variety of stakeholder groups, including patients, their families, consumers and medical professionals
  • Understanding of communications strategies
  • Understanding of the specialty pharma business model and the overall healthcare environment
  • Ability to be an efficient 'translator' between the NGO world and the corporate world; bring the patient voice within the organization in a credible and effective manner
  • Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with key external stakeholders, including Spanish and Portuguese Patient Advocacy Groups
  • Understanding of corporate and brand needs, including relevant medical, access and policy-related issues
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including commercial, R&D, medical affairs and senior leadership
  • Strong orientation and proven record of cross-functional alignment and collaboration
  • Demonstrated communication skills including ability to influence others, champion change and be a thought leader
  • Demonstrated innovative thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset; ability to link to strategy; demonstrate empathy
