Overview
In this role you will spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams to amplify brand messages and product positioning. You will lead with a modern content marketing approach and guide a team of experts in crafting compelling narratives aimed at resonating with cyclists worldwide.
Responsibilities

  • Oversee external communications, foster partnerships with media outlets, and provide strategic counsel on reputation management and crisis communication to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Set and evolve the vision for SRAM's communications with a modern content marketing approach across the organization with a rider-centric mindset.
  • Scale a global communications strategy, while inspiring and leading a world-class team.
  • Develop media campaigns to communicate SRAM's values in the marketplace across relevant platforms (earned, owned, shared). Partner with media to share and amplify key brand messages, product positioning, and proactive and reactive brand moments.
  • Develop systems for evaluating the media impact of products, branded content, and activation concepts.
  • Cultivate a team of subject matter experts in programmatic content distribution and creation.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in the media and content space and apply them to campaigns, go-to-market support, and purpose-led activity.
  • Lead the communications team in the development of evergreen brand stories that promote brand purpose.
  • Drive process to define and evaluate what success looks like across all relevant moments through project kick-off, postmortem, and recap exercises.
  • Operate cross functionally to deliver coordinated, maximum impact activity around content creation, planning, seasonal windows, and key business objectives.
  • Lead all incoming corporate-related press requests, involving the right team members as necessary for review and alignment.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in communications or related experience.
  • 5 years in a leadership role overseeing a comprehensive media and communications team engaging in P.E.S.O. (Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned) tactics.
  • 7 years directly managing a team or related management experience.
  • Experience leading teams at scale: executive presence and proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Success in high-growth environments: experience creating, executing, and leading global communications in agile and dynamic environments.
  • Innovation and creativity: ability to conceptualize and effectively communicate ideas.
  • Modern storytelling approach: Depth in digital communications and the social ecosystem with an understanding of multimedia, visual storytelling, and communications platforms.
  • Experience working in consumer products is highly preferred.
  • Extensive experience in corporate communications, media relations, and public relations.
  • Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Crisis management expertise and ability to skillfully navigate sensitive issues.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for cycling sports and understanding of the cycling industry trends preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% and work weekends and be flexible with working hours.
  • Salary range is $150,000 + up to 30% based on skills and experience level. For International locations, salary will be commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for an annual corporate bonus based on company and individual performance.
