The Role

: At Fors Marsh, we take on issues that matter. We are a team of researchers, advisors, and communicators working together to shape the systems that shape people's lives. We look at human behavior from all angles to design targeted solutions that influence decision-making and move people to action. We are committed to the problem, not just the project, and we are intentional about taking on work and forming partnerships that balance purpose, people, planet, and profit. We are a certified B Corporation, a Just employer, and a 2019–2024 Top Workplace awardee. We hold ourselves accountable to the values that have always defined us, and those values drive us to be the best possible versions of ourselves—for each other, our communities, our clients, and the world.

Fors Marsh is seeking a candidate who will provide full-time support to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and/or DHS sub-agencies in the areas of project management, content development, media relations, partner engagement, digital and social media, and more. As part of a team, you’ll collaborate with creative, writing, and communications staff to provide quality services to our federal clients.

  • Conduct research, planning, design, and development of communications and marketing programs and products that convey information to targeted audiences in the most effective ways, through the most suitable media, to contribute to achieving specific impacts and desired effects.
  • Conduct research, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests, and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, and scheduling meetings.
  • Plan, coordinate, or edit content of material for publication. May review proposals and drafts for possible publication. Includes technical editors.
  • Originate and prepare written material, such as scripts, stories, advertisements, and other material.
  • Assess communications needs, programs, and products through the effective application of interdisciplinary thinking, integrating principles and practices from the areas of communications theory, business and marketing, public relations, psychology, and organizational theory.
  • Contribute to the design and conduct of stakeholder analyses, outreach approaches, and other customer- and market-related research and interaction.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field.
  • Experience 3+ years in project management support and communications strategy/strategic planning.
  • Experience supporting various facets of communications and marketing plans including strategy development, media relations, social media marketing, and project management.
  • Excellent organization, writing, editing, and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in software applications such as the Microsoft Office suite; the Adobe suites of desktop publishing, graphic design, and illustration applications; and other audiovisual design and editing applications.
  • US work eligibility required for this position due to our federal contract requirement.
  • Active security clearance within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agency or active Secret/Top Secret Clearance.

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field.

Our benefits typically meet or exceed our competitors’ packages. Ways we are unique?

    • Ability to make an impact on people’s lives, both internal and external to the organization.

    • Top-tier health, dental, vision, and long and short-term disability coverage all covered at 100% for employee coverage.

    • Remote work.

    • Our company culture, which values balance and allows each employee to take leave as they require it to balance the responsibilities of both their work and home lives without worrying about depleting their available leave hours.

    • We provide a floating holiday bank so you can celebrate the days you value.

    • Generous matching retirement contributions and no vesting period starting the third month of employment.

    • Dedicated training and development budgets to expand your expertise and grow your skillset.

    • You can volunteer your way with paid time off.

    • You can participate in Fors Marsh staff-led affinity groups.
