The Refractory Abrasives & Construction BA Communication Director is a senior communication expert who drives the function ensuring it is entirely focused on the requirements of the business.
- Reporting line to the RAC SVP and with a dotted line to the Group Corporate Affairs VP.
- Part of the RAC BA Leadership Team.
- Member of the Global Communications Leadership team and has a dotted line to the Group Corporate Affairs VP.
- Management of 4 communication managers.
Key responsibilities:
Develop and be accountable for the communications strategy (internally and externally) including messages, existing channels, change management and tools for the Business Area in line with the Group framework.
In collaboration with Marketing teams, develop, coordinate & implement customer-related campaigns, prioritizing digital platforms to drive business growth
Act as the focal point for managing press and crisis communication strategies/execution ; including anticipation & management of reputational risk, supporting public affairs initiatives, engagement with external stakeholders
Organize, structure and manage communications resources within the Business Area and ensure cascading of information to all employees towards all facilities.
Keep abreast of and propose innovative technologies in collaboration with the Group and other BAs to promote competitive differentiation for the business and its products in the marketplace to generate new opportunities and leads.
Advise leaders and Senior leadership team, while adhering to global communications practice standards – be part of the region decision making process, participating in appropriate leadership forums.
Be the voice of the Group’s main initiatives: Safety, customer excellence, innovation, ESG, IT.
Work closely with other Heads of Communications to ensure coordination and alignment of messages and activities.
Be accountable for BA communications such as quarterly leadership pack, regularly BA leadership meetings, and annual kick-offs

Ability to think and act globally for the benefit of Imerys overall, while providing highly relevant advice to their own region.
