The Position

We are seeking a visionary strategic communications leader with a passion for storytelling to shape Roche's voice across Immunology and Infectious Diseases in China. Serving as the strategic link between business goals and public engagement, your mission will be to translate complex science into compelling narratives that drive meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

1. Brand Communications & Strategy

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies aligned with business priorities and Roche's global brand positioning.

  • Cross-Functional Partnering: Collaborate closely with Marketing, Medical, Market Access, and Government Affairs to amplify disease awareness, media engagement, and patient advocacy.

  • Agency Leadership: Manage PR agencies and vendors, overseeing event execution, campaign quality, and budget efficiency.

  • Performance Tracking: Define clear KPIs and frameworks to evaluate, measure, and optimize communication ROI.

2. Internal Communications & Employee Engagement

  • Culture & Engagement: Design internal campaigns and messaging that inform, inspire, and empower employees to become Roche brand ambassadors.

  • Business Unit Operations: Partner with BU Operations to support key leadership communications and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Channel Management: Maintain and modernize internal communication channels to ensure seamless information flow.

Who you are

You are a strategic thinker and a master storyteller who effortlessly bridges the gap between complex medical science and public resonance.

  • Proven Expertise: 6+ years in corporate communications, media relations, or PR—ideally within a multinational healthcare environment or top-tier agency.

  • Matrix Leadership: Adept at navigating complex organizational structures, building alignment, and fostering strong cross-functional partnerships.

  • Media & Crisis Readiness: Possess a solid media network and hands-on crisis communications experience, keeping a calm and steady hand under pressure.

  • Bilingual Command: Fluent in both written and spoken English and Mandarin, with the ability to articulate strategy and influence senior stakeholders globally.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or above (Journalism, Communications, PR, or Marketing background preferred).

  • Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience driving strategic communications from concept to execution.

  • Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated capability to engage, influence, and advise senior executive leaders.

  • Key Strengths: High adaptability, strategic problem-solving skills, and a creative, proactive mindset.

  • Strong Pluses: Direct experience in pharma/healthcare PR, disease awareness campaigns, or agency leadership.
