We're seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President in Asia Commodities Trade Support to lead the Singapore Branch Operations Commodities Trade Support (TSG) team which is responsible for trade capturing, processing of trade lifecycle events, reconciling, monitoring and resolving of trade exceptions for Commodities business. The role will require extensive interaction with Sales/Traders, other Infrastructure Departments and regional and global Operations teams. As a regional commodities hub the candidate will also be involved in helping establish and execute governance framework in partnership with regional and global commodities operations teams and support business requirements in the region. The individual will engage directly with senior business leaders including the sales and trading desks based in Asia. 
 
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Department Manager position at Vice President level  within Product Support & Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.

What you'll do in the role: 
- Set the vision for the direction of your team in conjunction with global peer group ensuring consistent execution, strong control framework, business enablement and process adherence within all local regulations  
- Take responsibility for talent acquisition, developing a bench of talent, and creating a plan for succession 
- Run the operation as a business by considering client service needs, cost effectiveness and the department's automation and efficiency agenda 
- Partner directly with peers across Business Units and / or external stakeholders to provide input and execute on strategy and future state of their respective group > Oversight of day-to-day responsibilities within SG Commodities Trade Support team 
- Establish and execute governance framework for Asia regional commodities operation 
- Act as contact point for Commodities business in Asia  
- Leading the build out of new business platform and related infrastructure to support new Commodities products and business initiatives in Asia  
- Look for process or system improvements to increase consistency, capacity and mitigate risk. Implement Automation and AI strategy 
- Ensuring all daily processes and SLAs are met within applicable timeframes 
- Ensuring business processing is in compliance with Firm policy/procedure and local regulations 
- Complying with all regulatory filing and reporting requirements 
- Managing staff performance, training and development 
- Build and maintain relationships at all levels of the firm's, clients', and outsourcing agent's organization including strong partnerships between branch operations team and global/regional functional leads and SME's  
 
What you'll bring to the role:

- Min 10 years of experience in operations with 6-10 years in Commodities operations 
- Experience in Physical Commodities operations will be an added advantage

- Good communication and stakeholder management skills, able to interact and work effectively across functional/locations 
- High personal commitment and integrity 
- Detail oriented with strong risk awareness and able to perform operational responsibilities to a consistently high standard 
- Strong leadership and management skill and able to motivate and develop people 
- Creative problem solving skills

Skills Required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in operations with 6-10 years in commodities operations
  • Experience in physical commodities operations
  • Strong understanding of commodities products, business, operational processes, and related regulations
