Commodities Services supports EQT's commercial and trading organization through operational, reporting, and mid-office functions. This side of the team is heavily focused on analytics infrastructure and cross-functional data work: building and maintaining BI dashboards (Power BI, Spotfire), owning data pipelines feeding forecasting and reporting tools, triaging data/BI issues with IT Data Engineering, and producing the reporting and analysis packages used by trading and leadership to track pricing, P&L, and market exposure. The team also supports market data platform migrations and broader Commodities knowledge-sharing initiatives.
This role is being hired at flexible levels — Analyst or Senior Analyst — depending on the candidate's experience. It will work on operational, reporting, and mid-office support for the Commodities Services team, with a growth path toward greater ownership of analytics and reporting infrastructure.
The Commodities Services Analyst/Senior Analyst responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Own components of recurring reports and dashboards with minimal oversight.
- Develop and enhance dashboards and data models.
- Perform analysis on pricing, volumes, and market exposure.
- Support trading activities and operational reporting needs.
- Gather and document requirements by collaborating with stakeholders.
- Identify and implement incremental process improvements.
- Own end-to-end delivery of dashboards, models, and reporting processes.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and reporting infrastructure.
- Analyze PnL, pricing, and market exposure to support trading decisions.
- Assist with preparation of presentations.
- Improve and automate existing reporting workflows.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into scalable analytical solutions.
- Mentor junior analysts and review their work.
- Prepare reports, analytical summaries, and PowerPoint presentations that synthesize data and insights for internal stakeholders and management.
- Support delivery of analytical presentations to internal stakeholders; ensure data accuracy and visual clarity of all presentation materials.
In practice, this looks like: maintaining and troubleshooting BI dashboards and data pipelines (Power BI, Spotfire, forward curve/market data feeds), triaging and resolving data quality issues in partnership with IT Data Engineering, building and updating forecast models (e.g., NGL forecasting), and supporting broader Commodities data initiatives such as system migrations and reporting hierarchy build-outs.

- Organization and time management skills; ability to multi-task under competing priorities.
- Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability.
- Foundational understanding of commodities markets and the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
- Basic understanding of P&L and pricing concepts.
- Ability to communicate data insights clearly to non-technical audiences.

- Financial modeling experience.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases in a production reporting environment.

- Strong understanding of PnL, pricing, and market risk exposure concepts.
- Understanding of natural gas marketing (basis differentials, pipeline capacity, supply/demand dynamics, counterparty relationships).
- Demonstrated project ownership — able to plan, execute, and deliver scalable reporting/data solutions with minimal guidance.
- Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior analysts.
