Job DescriptionPOSITION OVERVIEW
The Commission Specialist reports to a Senior Commissions Accountant and supports the processing of commission payments to Stream's commercial real estate brokers. The position is responsible for the timely and accurate input of the calculated commission information into Stream's proprietary CRM database. It is also responsible for managing inquiries and for providing outstanding customer service to the brokerage team.
- Process co-broker fee splits by meticulously reviewing the details of each commissionable transaction.
- Timely and accurately apply cash to commissionable transactions in the CRM.
- Ensure all commission-related documents are properly filed, stored, and available for audit.
- Maintain accurate supporting documentation for recordkeeping and compliance purposes.
- Assist in auditing commission inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Liaise with agents to address commission-related inquiries and facilitate resolution of discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the finance department, transaction coordinators, and brokers to ensure seamless commission operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on commission-based accounting or compensation management
- Familiarity with payroll systems, commission structures, and financial reporting is required
- Understanding of incentive-based pay structures and compliance with tax regulations is required
- Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Workday, SAP, NetSuite, CoStar, REApps)
- Experience with automation tools or commission calculation software
- Ability to manage large datasets and perform accurate reconciliations to meet commissions deadlines
- Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and accurate self-review
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset in a fast-paced team environment
- High level of integrity, ownership, and completion of responsibilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
