About the Commercial Analytics Team
The Commercial Analytics group is a key partner to the senior leadership team across the firm, enabling better commercial decision making by systematically assessing progress against our goals and by providing data-backed insights. A core mission of this group is to do business analytics in a truly systemized fashion, through a robust infrastructure and user-friendly tools. As a result, the Commercial Analytics group is deeply connected with the rest of the Client Service Systemization Teams and Technology department to create and shape a sustainable ecosystem.
The Commercial Analytics team is a trusted partner in both setting and running Bridgewater’s commercial strategy.
About Your Role
Associates on the Commercial Analytics team will play a vital role in servicing internal stakeholders across BW to improve and solve various business strategy problems. From their unique position at the heart of Bridgewater’s commercial strategy and sales & marketing activities, these individuals have an aerial view into our commercial footprint, ever-evolving perspectives on world markets, high-impact company-wide projects and how we’re positioned as an organization to achieve our goals. The Commercial Analytics team work closely with Client Service, Total Portfolio Strategies, and Alpha Engine Leadership, and the Commercial Committee, to collaborate on how to handle different commercial research projects – all the way from key questions/initial framework, to analysis, to systemization and hardening and ultimately delivery for insights and recommendations.
Successful Associates in Commercial Analytics will:
- Develop a holistic understanding of Bridgewater’s business objectives and problems.
- Understand various Client Service and Marketing systems in place.
- Partner with leadership across Client Service and Investment Engine to understand business priorities and their biggest challenges.
- Develop and author logic and visualizations to enable better commercial decision-making through providing data-backed insights.
- Ensure the commercial analytics systems are utilized in the best possible way across the department.
- Partner with leadership across CS to report key performance metrics in a systematic basis.
- Develop a holistic understanding of Bridgwater’s investment products and how they tie to strategic goals.
- Partner with technologists to shape our commercial analytics infrastructure.

You will drive the following responsibilities:
- Understand Bridgewater's book of business, related commercial strategy, and our investment thinking.
- Contribute to Bridgewater’s world-class commercial service strategy through creative thinking about how to generate insights and convey key messages to our leadership about our commercial activities and achievements
- Strategize with CS and Product Development Leadership and help develop best approach to systematically assess our department and commercial achievements relative to plans
- Apply analytical and technical skills to build out our commercial analytics systems and deliver high impact products to the leadership and senior management.
The role in Commercial Analytics role is a great opportunity to transition into Bridgewater. While the position does not require deep experience in asset management, qualified candidates will have 2-4 years of prior experience in a related professional services environment. We are looking for intellectually curious individuals who enjoy solving complex problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree from a competitive school with a strong academic and extracurricular track record
- Interest in understanding and solving problems related to business strategy.
- Ability to solve complex problems using strong analytical and technical abilities.
- Aptitude for creative technical and analytical work.
- Keen customer service mentality
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize time effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
- Strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to achieve results and drive projects to completion; strong attention to detail
- Aptitude for remaining composed and confident under pressure
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite expertise

Compensation Band:
The wage range for this role is $175,000 - $225,000 inclusive of base salary and discretionary target bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 75% - 85% of this wage range.
