The Work:

To assist the Commercial Syndications team with reporting, draw requests and overall syndication requests with the Credit Union channel. The Intern will be trained on all aspects of syndications, consisting of but not limited to reviewing and executing draw requests, responding to basic level inquiries in a timely manner. The Intern will also become familiar with the Bank’s established policies and procedures as well as federal compliance regulations while finding creative solutions to meet internal deadlines and provide support to the Commercial department.


The Core Responsibilities Of The Job:

  • 60% on a daily basis, the Intern will assist with the preparation or dissemination of reporting, and handling CU inquiries, from ad hoc report requests to basic level query resolution. Review and analysis on reporting. The incumbent will also work with the portfolio department to assist in the point of contact with syndicated loans on their books. They will also provide critical feedback at the direction of the Senior Analyst or Senior Manager on workflow with the portfolio team. The incumbent will also work with the funding team to ensure the accurate funding of syndicated deals, as well as preparing fundings syndicated documents .
  • 35% on a weekly basis, the Intern will assist with various administrative and sundry duties as assigned, such as reporting, procedure updates, pipeline management, and ad-hoc projects.
  • 5% on a daily basis, the incumbent is responsible for time management of their workflow in order to meet prescribed deadlines

  • Currently enrolled in a University or College program (Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or Data Science is preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Use of MySQL, SQL Studio Management, and Python is not a prerequisite but is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to respond in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates strong self-learning abilities and is a fast learner.

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
