ABOUT ALLIED FLAG
Allied Flag manufactures American flags, custom flags, banners, and flag hardware in Kansas City, Missouri. Every flag is made in the USA from U.S.-grown cotton and domestically sourced nylon to embroidered stars and sewn stripes and the facility produces to the tolerances required by federal flag contracts. Allied Flag is part of the Allied Brands family alongside Open Road Brands and Springbok, offering customers a single American manufacturing partner across flags, décor, and seasonal programs.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Executive owns new and existing commercial flag revenue, combining relationship-driven account management with disciplined new-business development. The individual in this role builds a book of business across distributors, dealers, installers, institutions, and government and commercial end users, and grows it through consistent account management and recurring program business.
The role carries a revenue quota and manages the full sales cycle prospecting, qualifying, quoting custom and stock product, negotiating, closing, and managing the account after the first order. It pairs field selling with the technical fluency to quote custom flags and banners accurately, accounting for materials, sizes, finishing, artwork, minimums, tooling, lead times, and freight. Success is measured by new accounts opened, revenue and margin delivered, and recurring program business established.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
New Business Development
- Build and manage a target prospect list, generating qualified meetings through outbound calling, email, referrals, site visits, and trade shows.
- Sell into high-volume channels, distributors, dealers, and installer networks, while also developing end-user business directly.
- Convert one-time buyers into recurring programs, including replacement cycles, multi-site rollouts, and seasonal and memorial-date reorders.
Quoting, Pricing & Margin
- Prepare accurate quotes for stock and custom product from customer artwork and specifications, coordinating with production on feasibility, minimums, tooling, and lead times.
- Sell to the target margin; manage price, freight, and program terms within approved guidelines, and escalate exceptions rather than discounting to close.
- Follow every quote to a decision and maintain a current pipeline with realistic close dates and values.
Account & Territory Management
- Own an assigned territory or channel: develop the coverage plan, prioritize accounts by potential, and maintain a consistent call and visit cadence.
- Serve as the primary commercial contact after the sale, onboarding, artwork approvals, order status, service issues, and reorders, partnering with customer service and production rather than handing off the customer.
- Conduct business reviews with top accounts and grow share of wallet by expanding product mix.
Trade Shows, Reporting & CRM Discipline
- Represent Allied Flag at industry trade shows and association events; set meetings in advance, work the booth, and complete lead follow-up within the agreed service standard.
- Maintain the CRM as a condition of the role, accounts, contacts, opportunities, quotes, next steps, and forecast kept current.
- Deliver an accurate rolling forecast and a weekly summary of pipeline movement, wins, and losses, reporting loss reasons specifically so pricing, product, and lead-time issues are addressed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Business-to-business sales experience with direct accountability for a revenue quota and for opening new accounts.
- Demonstrated hunting ability, a track record of self-generated pipeline rather than inherited accounts.
- Comfort quoting configured or made-to-order product where specification, artwork, minimums, and lead time affect price.
- Strong negotiation, written and verbal communication, and follow-through across competing deadlines.
- CRM discipline and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel approximately 5–10%.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant sales experience.
- Experience selling flags, flagpoles, banners, signage, awnings, promotional products, uniforms, textiles, or other American-manufactured commercial products.

- Commercial acumen with margin, freight, and program pricing.
- Familiarity with NetSuite or a comparable ERP.
