Support the first line of defense risk management function by assisting with the identification and assessment of risks, risk monitoring and testing, and issues management.
Primary Responsibilities:- Assist with the identification and assessment of risks through the completion of process maps and the identification of internal controls for key business processes.
- Perform control testing in accordance with M&T's First Line of Defense Guidance on Management of Risks & Internal Controls and professional standards.
- Assist with the monitoring of identified risks through the completion of risk-based testing and ensure compliance with business unit policies and procedures for key processes.
- Assist with the completion of Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) and other risk management reporting.
- Research and understand regulatory requirements for respective business line.
- Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree plus one (1) year of relevant work experience , or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years' higher education and/or work experience
