Qualifications

The Commercial Project Manager position is responsible for representing the company with clients and consultants on commercial jobs in regards to countertops and for making decisions on behalf of the company.
 

Essential Functions

  • Manages multiple projects at various stages of work and ensure timelines are being met.
  • Consults with clients and/or project supervisors to determine functional and spatial requirements of countertops, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, and estimated costs.
  • Work closely with project supervisor to establish timeline and regularly update and adjust as needed.
  • Update internal SPS system as necessary for materials and tracking purposes.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications.
  • CAD and Templates plans using computer software and equipment. Work with internal CAD team to create renderings of project within project timeframe.
  • Represent company in weekly project meetings with commercial contractors.
  • Manage job sites to ensure they are ready for materials to be installed. Assist with installs as necessary.
  • Conducts onsite observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans. Evaluate work and/or rework post install.
  • Be available to work the occasional early morning, evening, or weekend based on job needs.

 

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum of three years of related experience
  • Ability to communicate well with others
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
  • Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • CAD and template capabilities
  • Ability to read blue prints

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Prior experience in countertop or construction industry
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications highly desirable.
  • Bachelors degree in related field
