The Role
Description
This role is categorized as HYBRID . This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Cadillac Tower three times per week, at minimum. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits
As a Commercial Product Marketing Manager , you will act as the representative of the GM Envolve (fleet) customer throughout the product development process. Your responsibilities will include providing valuable input on vehicle content, developing business cases to support change requests, providing key customer feedback for product use cases and developing content packaging, trim strategy, production timing, pricing, and technology evaluation. It is crucial that you prioritize the customer's perspective and ensure that their wants and needs are at the forefront of our decision-making. By putting the customer in the middle, we aim to deliver exceptional vehicles that lead the segment and align perfectly with customer expectations. You will have opportunity to provide the Voice of the Customer throughout the entire GM Global Vehicle Development Process and with current in market vehicles. Additionally, this is a people leader position and therefore requires you to manage and develop multiple employees.
As the Commercial Product Manager for Heavy & Medium Duty Trucks, your role encompasses the following responsibilities:
  • Take the lead in defining the product content for future vehicle programs in collaboration with the Program Execution Team and serve as a strong advocate for the fleet customer.
  • Assess customer needs and align vehicle roles across commercial, government, and small business segments with GM's retail strategy.
  • Ensure that the commercial vehicle offering is profitable, captures market share, and complies with GM's regulatory goals.
  • Develop comprehensive plans for product content, packaging, and pricing, while also evaluating the vehicle's competitive strength against key rivals.
  • Lead strategic planning for the lifecycle of the assigned vehicle program, with a focus on incorporating the voice of the customer throughout the product development process
  • Offer insights on volume forecasts and pricing recommendations, while understanding the market dynamics within the vehicle segment.
  • Collaborate with VSSM Finance to develop pricing.
  • Develop dealer order guides and supporting materials.
  • Work with Marketing teams to support launches and updates for model years.
  • Identify customer needs and highlight product wins for effective communications.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and deliver effective messaging in consumer and dealer communications, including dealer order guides and promotional materials (digital, print, video). Ensuring that all creative marketing materials strictly adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to obtain legal affidavits for advertising claims.

Your role involves contributing to the dissemination of an accurate brand message across GM Envolve, Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac. You may work closely with dealerships, media outlets, agencies, and other channels. Your responsibilities will include:
  • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) at GM Envolve, you will have the opportunity to publicly speak and represent our company at various commercial, government, and industry trade shows. Your role will involve showcasing our products, services, and expertise to potential clients, industry professionals, and government representatives.
  • You will play a crucial role in select customer meetings, where you may be an important contact for our clients. Your expertise and deep understanding of our solutions will enable you to effectively communicate the value proposition of GM Envolve and address any inquiries or concerns raised by customers.
  • Conducting market research and analyzing data to gain marketing insights, identify key consumer insights, and uncover competitive opportunities.
  • Brainstorming and developing creative GM Envolve marketing campaigns for various GM products, including vehicles, accessories, parts, and services.
  • Collaborating with external vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to define customer-focused features, working closely with Product Research to make critical business decisions.
  • Building and managing relationships both internally and externally, including CRM, agencies, commercial, government, rental, small business and GM partners.

  • Manages multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating intellectual curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in Commercial Sales, Product/Brand Marketing, Vehicle Engineering and/or Product Development Process.
  • Subject Matter Expert of Heavy/Medium Duty vehicles
  • Experience conducting presentations, including in large settings
  • Prior people leadership experience
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

  • Master's degree in Business Administration

This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review.
