To ensure we are capturing value and to achieve profitable growth, we are looking for a Commercial Product Engineer who can help drive automotive commercial strategy in a cross functional structure and work with customers to execute the strategy. This role will report into the Commercial Marketing Director.

Responsibilities

  • Work with each Business Unit leader to understand and implement pricing strategies to deliver on the BU’s financial goals.
  • Work in a fast paced and complex cross functional environment across the organization, customers, and partners.
  • Be involved and help drive Annual Price Negotiation (APN) process for major Automotive customers with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Articulate value adds of Commercial Marketing activities and have a solution mind set to solve customer problems.
  • Help to negotiate and execute commercial agreements such as Supply Agreements, MOU’s, etc.
  • Build strong connections with customer facing team (Account Management, Global Account Management, Sales Leadership, Customer, etc) to help execute commercial strategy.
  • Develop working knowledge on pricing systems (ModelN, etc) to ensure that business needs are incorporate into system development and manage escalations (when needed).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, etc) or equivalent
  • 5+ years in a commercial role preferred.
  • Negotiation in a customer facing role preferred.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skill set.
  • Self-motivated, thorough, autonomous, and driven to continually improve.
  • Superior cross functional networking skills.
  • Ability to see big picture and business strategy.
  • Data analysis experience preferred, can be Excel (experience with Pivot tables), PowerBI, etc.
  • Comfortable presenting to senior management and executives.
