Department Overview
Pfizer's Commercial Portfolio Business Unit manages a portfolio of critical medicines, delivering value to patients throughout the UK. Pfizer offers a diverse environment which allows employees numerous opportunities to grow and develop.
What can I achieve and what will I be accountable for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer?
During the placement, you will:
- Work across various areas within the product lifecycle, from forecasting, performance analysis and operational delivery
- Develop critical business skills, including stakeholder management, multi-tasking, commercial decision making within a complex portfolio, business acumen and leadership
- Gain exposure to commercial activities with a focus on tendering, demand management, and portfolio optimisation.'
- Become a valued team player while having the opportunity to own specific projects
.
Other tasks will include:
• Involvement in team-based projects with commercial Marketing & Commercial managers
• Assisting the Commercial Portfolio team director with projects, and operational activities
• Support or lead project Implementation
• External stakeholder communication
• Maintaining a high level of accuracy in reporting shortages and supply KPIs
• Analysis of data, data driven insights, input into channel strategies

When can I start?
Placements will start on 1st September 2026 and will run for 12 months.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Type of person we are looking for, in relation to 'Skills', 'Knowledge' and 'Motivation':
• Completing placement as part of University Degree either through Year In Industry/Industrial Placement or Gap Year
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong Maths and English skills
• Self-assurance to engage with Pfizer personnel at all levels
• Basic business and commercial acumen
• Good analytical skills and capability
• Excellent interpersonal skills, tenacity and the ability to influence others
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
