GENERAL FUNCTION: Provides credit risk management for portfolio credits having a moderate to complex degree of difficulty. Daily duties include performing analysis to underwrite and monitor credit, completing existing and proposed credit approval requests, providing a high level of customer service and support, and completing special projects as requested. Reviews documentation to achieve understanding required for the processing and monitoring of loans , monitors financial performance and compliance with loan covenants, takes appropriate action with proper communication on loans that are not in compliance, are mature or past due, and communicates with customers as needed or directed.

While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partners with their peer Portfolio Managers, Industry Credit Lead or Credit Officer, Team Leaders, and Relationship Managers in credit underwriting efforts through performing industry and company research, financial analysis and modeling, and approval document preparation and review.
- Assists in understanding the credit needs of customers and prospects, and the benefits provided them through the products and/or services offered by the bank to meet those needs. Participates in the loan proposal and account management functions, including accompanying the Relationship Managers on customer and prospect calls.
- Assists in coordinating, preparing and reviewing internal or third party loan documentation, as required.
- Develops an understanding of all credit products offered by the bank, and their appropriate use.
- Develops a working knowledge of all customers and businesses, and prospective opportunities.
- Maintain appropriate client records and an archive of the bank's industry wide and client specific credit work.
- Collects and reviews all required collateral and financial monitoring or servicing information.
- Reviews current account status, to include but not limited to, Past Due accounts and Notes Matured. Makes appropriate recommendations for these accounts.
- Develops knowledge of industry and/or markets being supported.
- Develops understanding of bank policies and risk appetite.
- Partners with the Relationship Manager on an ongoing basis to obtain information concerning customer performance, assess management capabilities, and perform industry research to determine whether loans represent an acceptable risk. This will consist of but not be limited to statement, covenant and insurance reporting, monitoring and tracking, Dual Risk Rating updates, Admin Loan Status Report updates, and other Credit Excellence items as needed.
- Responsible for approval within designated authorities.
- Mentors and develops more junior portfolio managers and business partners.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for majors in accounting, finance or economics.
- 3-5 years of credit analysis and/or loan review experience.
- Must be proficient in basic software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with the Bank's internal applications is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and teamwork exhibition.
- Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and multi-task.
- Comfortable in a limited client facing environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.
- Extended viewing of a CRT screen.
- Travel may be required.

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
