Role overview:
The Commercial Planning Specialist plays a key role in supporting the Commercial Planning team through financial analysis, operational coordination, reporting and process excellence. Working closely with the Commercial Planning Manager, Commercial Planner, Channel Experience Manager and Commercial Managers, you'll help ensure accurate forecasting, effective budget management and high-quality commercial insights that enable informed decision-making across the business.
This role combines commercial operations, financial administration, reporting and continuous process improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, improving ways of working and partnering with stakeholders across multiple functions.
What you'll be doing:
Systems & Process Management
- Act as the local SAP key user for Commercial Planning and Finance processes.
- Maintain and improve operating procedures to drive consistency and efficiency.
- Support system troubleshooting and identify opportunities to optimise commercial processes.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and sales management processes.
- Partner with regional and global stakeholders on initiatives to enhance systems and ways of working.
Business Tools & Reporting
- Maintain commercial reporting dashboards, databases and planning tools.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity and consistency of commercial data.
- Produce regular and ad hoc reporting to support commercial decision-making.
- Analyse trends and performance, highlighting risks, opportunities and actionable insights.
- Provide reporting support and cover across the Commercial Planning team when required.
Commercial Planning Support
- Support the Commercial Planner in forecast management, allocations and operational follow-up
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of planning files and reporting tools.
- Participate in operational reviews and help identify risks and mitigation actions.
- Work closely with Commercial Planner to ensure data consistency.
- Provide backup support for the Commercial Planner on reporting tools and trackers.
Budget Management & Finance Support
- Support the Channel Experience Manager in tracking Trade Marketing and Commercial budgets.
- Maintain budget trackers and investment reporting.
- Monitor actual spend versus forecast on Commercial Terms.
- Support ROI and investment performance analysis.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience working in a commercial planning, commercial operations, or business planning role.
- Strong SAP knowledge, ideally within Finance and Controlling modules.
- Advanced Excel skills (Macro, Visual Basic, Automation, IA)
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and process discipline.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of retail environments.
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Desirable:
- Experience in FMCG, Consumer Electronics or Retail environments.
- Experience working with ERP systems and financial processes.
- Experience supporting commercial, planning or operations teams.
