As a hands-on Commercial Manager within the Protected Vehicles (PRV) team, you will lead the PRV contract management team and provide expert LC&C input on high-value, high-risk matters.
Reporting to the Director LC&C Land/AM and working closely with the PRV Director and Leadership Team, you will collaborate with senior management to ensure successful delivery of key contracts, drive optimal commercial outcomes, and contribute to best-practice contract management for Australia’s defence industry.
Based in Eaglefarm, Brisbane, on Jagera and Turrbul land, your task is to:
Drive LC&C outcomes for PRV bids and projects by enforcing Thales’ contract management governance and delivering prompt, practical commercial and legal advice.
Review, draft, and negotiate contracts to secure superior business results for new projects and opportunities.
Lead commercial negotiations on IP rights for major contracts and programs.
Personally lead tenders, export opportunities, and RFTs, ensuring top-quality commercial submissions to win business.
Partner with Finance and Procurement to optimise financial outcomes, value for money, subcontracting, supply chain management, and process compliance.
Act as PRV Compliance Officer, ensuring full compliance with competition, corporate, and WHS law.
Lead governance, contract management, and reporting improvements across PRV.
Champion transformation and continuous improvement within LC&C and the broader PRV business.
On day one, you will bring:
A degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or Business.
Track record in commercial management or a blend of legal and commercial expertise.
Deep commercial knowledge, proven success in bid/capture environments, and delivering complex project outcomes.
Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
Advanced understanding and skills in contract law, drafting, and dispute resolution.
Must have experience with government contracting (e.g., ASDEFCON)
Defence industry experience is an advantage, but not essential.
