Reporting to the Regional Head of Development, the Commercial Manager will join the Offshore Wind team to support the early stage development of offshore wind projects, with a particular focus on origination, commercial structuring, and assessment of the financial attractiveness of specific opportunities and development alternatives.
The role is designed to sit between controlling and strategic commercial analysis. The successful candidate will bring hands on financial modelling experience, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to critically assess end to end business cases, drawing together input from multiple disciplines to support investment and development decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Origination & Development Support
• Assist in identifying and developing offshore wind projects through market analysis, bid support, and evaluating development strategies.
• Help define commercial approaches across all project stages and assess partnership, acquisition, and divestment opportunities.
• Contribute to commercial discussions with potential partners, including JV structuring and risk/return allocation.
• Provide commercial and financial input to evaluate partnership structures and support negotiations.
Financial Modelling & Investment Analysis
• Build and maintain financial models for project evaluation, including assumption books, scenarios and valuations.
• Test assumptions, identify value drivers and risks, and deliver clear recommendations to stakeholders.
Commercial & Cross-Functional Challenge
• Provide commercial and financial critique of input from various teams.
• Ensure business cases are consistent, sound, and incorporate all technical, regulatory, and economic factors.
Controlling & Financial Oversight
• Enforce financial discipline during project development, supporting budgeting and tracking.
• Align controlling outputs with strategic and commercial analyses.
Essential for this role
• BS degree
• Proven exposure to investment appraisal, valuation, and scenario analysis, ideally within infrastructure, energy, or capital intensive industries.
• Ability to understand and challenge full business cases, not just individual financial inputs.

• Experience working in cross functional, project based environments.
• Experience in financial analysis and modelling, with demonstrated ability to build and stress complex business cases.
• Knowledge in offshore wind industry
