He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
This is a key role working in our Programme Delivery team!
Reporting to the Programme Manager, this position is responsible for leading the commercial management of the North Harbour 2 (NH2) Programme from design and procurement through to construction delivery, commissioning and handover.
You will manage commercial strategy, contract administration, risk management, and financial controls to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets whilst achieving value-for-money outcomes.
You will provide commercial leadership to the programme team and ensure robust financial management systems and processes are in place to support the delivery of water transmission projects exceeding $800M in total value.

To be successful in this role you will have at least 10 years experience in commercial management on major infrastructure programmes.
Your skills will also include:
- Chartered professional qualification (CPEng, MRICS, CPA, CA or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience leading commercial teams on projects exceeding $500M in value
- Proven track record of delivering projects within budget and managing commercial risk
- Experience with NZS 3916 and NZS 3910 contract forms and construction contract administration
- Advanced understanding of procurement processes, contract law and commercial risk management
- Experience with public sector governance and audit requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior executives and board-level stakeholders
- Experience with water infrastructure delivery is an advantage.
