About the role:
As a Commercial Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the commercial and legal aspects of our business operations. Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance and mitigating legal risks by managing, negotiating, and drafting contracts. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and finance, to execute contracts, resolve disputes, and ensure smooth business operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Internal: Working within commercial governance policies, advising on pricing strategy, and supporting strategic projects like implementing new regulations.
- Client: Leading on commercial negotiations with new customers and drafting bespoke contracts to support new acquisitions.
- Suppliers: Owning or supporting supplier relationships, from due diligence to ongoing management and contract negotiations.
About you:
We're looking for someone with a sharp business mind and a flair for problem-solving.
- Expertise: You have a solid background in a commercial management role, with 4+ years’ experience in contract negotiation and drafting. A relevant degree or equivalent qualification is desirable, as is an industry-specific qualification (WCC or CIPS). A strong commercial awareness and a good understanding of how contracts impact the business are also essential.
- Attributes: You excel at working independently, using your own initiative with minimal supervision. You are a great risk mitigator, with an aptitude for assessing challenges and finding alternative solutions.
- Competencies: You're adaptable, resilient, and possess a high level of integrity. Your professional judgment, critical thinking, and strong communication skills enable you to work effectively and collaboratively.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: Up to 50k – dependant on experience
- Leave: Generous annual leave starting at 25 days, increasing with service and capped at 30 days.
