Job Summary
We are seeking a Commercial Lines Placement Specialist to join our Large Commercial Lines Construction team.
Our Commercial Lines Placement Specialists are responsible for managing and executing key components of the new business and renewal processes for mid-to-large commercial insurance accounts. This includes overseeing timelines, conducting exposure and financial analysis, preparing quote specifications, negotiating complex coverage terms, and presenting comprehensive proposals to clients.
Responsibilities
Timeline & Process Management: Responsible for maintaining the timeline and process during the new business and renewal process, inclusive of exposure analysis, quote specifications, analysis and negotiation of coverage offers, and preparation and presentation of coverage proposals.
Market Strategy: Create and execute marketing strategies for select accounts, determining where to market based on risk characteristics, large deductibles, captives, and detailed market analysis.
Alternative Risk Analysis: Evaluate and analyze alternative risk financing mechanisms, including large deductible programs and captive structures, to determine the most advantageous placement approach.
Coverage Structuring: Strategize and build insurance towers for select accounts to provide higher coverage limits beyond standard primary policies.
Decision-Making Authority: Exercise independent judgment in the placement of accounts with alternative carriers, balancing client needs with market conditions.
Year-End Review: Responsible for year-end book review for select accounts to assess placement performance, carrier relationships, and renewal strategy.
Communication: Communicate effectively within the team environment, inclusive of the Client Advisors and Account Service Team, as well as with markets. Collaborate directly with Client Advisors in client-facing discussions on marketing strategy and placement outcomes.
Policy Review & Recommendations: Review insurance policies and contracts and make recommendations for improvement.
Submission Preparation: Work with others to prepare property and casualty insurance submissions for new business prospects and renewing accounts including, but not limited to: insurance specifications for each line of coverage, ACORD applications using firm’s agency management system, loss summaries, prospect profiles, and exposure schedules.
Data Analysis: Analyze Excel spreadsheets of prospect client exposure and/or loss data, as well as develop financial models of loss-sensitive programs when necessary.
Market Relationships: Maintain familiarity and working relationships with various insurance companies and wholesalers, and stay informed of carrier appetites and market trends.
Confidentiality: Handle confidential and non-routine information.
Carrier Systems and Comparative Rating Tools: Use rating tools and carrier systems, when applicable, to assist in the quoting and proposal development process.
Licensing Compliance: Abide by and maintain all licensing requirements, including continuing education.
Professional Development: Attend seminars, company meetings, carrier events, and educational activities needed to improve overall job expertise and product knowledge.
Coverage Analysis & Strategy: Perform coverage gap analysis and deliver strategic coverage recommendations tailored to each client’s specific risk profile.
Project Work: Work independently and within a team on special, nonrecurring, and ongoing projects.
Risk Resource Engagement: Identify opportunities to engage Risk Resources for specialized expertise and partner with them to deliver tailored solutions for complex client needs.
Requirements
Excellent phone etiquette, written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong critical thinking, financial analysis, and negotiation skills with the ability to analyze complex market data and influence placement outcomes.
Ability to work with minimal supervision while also accepting direction on assigned projects.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced knowledge of Excel and Word.
Experience with Epic agency management system preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to document accuracy.
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment while delivering outstanding customer service.
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance markets and basic applicable insurance coverages.
Ability to develop and deliver professional proposal presentation documents.
Education and Experience
Minimum of 3 years of insurance industry experience, with a focus on large commercial construction account placements.
Experience working for an insurance broker or agency, including marketing large market accounts to insurance carriers.
Demonstrated knowledge of insurance carrier markets and placement strategies.
Current Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license required.
Professional insurance designations such as CRM, CISR, CIC, AAI, ARM, or CPCU preferred, or active pursuit of one of these designations.

Pay Details:
The base compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
