Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Commercial Lines Account Manager to support and manage a portfolio of commercial insurance clients. This role is responsible for providing exceptional service, managing policy changes, supporting renewals, coordinating quotes, and ensuring accurate account documentation. The ideal candidate has strong commercial insurance knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building lasting client relationships. This position plays a key role in supporting client retention, operational efficiency, and delivering customized insurance solutions that meet client needs.

Work Arrangement: This is a full-time, hybrid position reporting our office in Waterloo, IA.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial clients, providing timely support and guidance regarding insurance needs, policy questions, and service requests.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by proactively communicating updates, gathering information, and ensuring client accounts remain accurate and up to date.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, renewals, audits, and other account transactions in accordance with client needs and carrier requirements.
  • Review policies, contracts, coverage limits, terms, and conditions to ensure accuracy and identify potential coverage concerns.
  • Prepare insurance applications, market accounts, obtain carrier quotes, and present competitive coverage options to support client needs.
  • Partner with Producers throughout the renewal process, including gathering renewal information, preparing materials, coordinating client meetings, and supporting renewal strategy discussions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client communications, policy activity, and account information within agency management systems.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to submit applications, process changes, resolve issues, and ensure timely completion of service requests.
  • Provide certificates, verification of insurance, and other policy documentation to clients and third parties as requested.
  • Handle agency-billed policies and related account activities while ensuring accurate recordkeeping and compliance with agency procedures.
  • Collaborate with Producers, carriers, and internal team members to support client satisfaction, retention, and overall account success.
  • Stay informed on commercial insurance products, carrier guidelines, industry trends, and best practices through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 1+ year of experience in customer service, account management, or a related client support role required.
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license required or ability to obtain and maintain required licensing.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry, specifically Commercial Lines, preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, coverages, policies, procedures, and carrier requirements.
  • Experience building client relationships, identifying needs, and providing customized service solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve client and carrier issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, agency management systems, and other client management tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, carriers, Producers, and internal team members.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professional standards, and continued industry education.
