A Day in the LifeThis role leads the country organization in achieving commercial, operational, and strategic objectives. It is responsible for shaping and executing the national go-to-market strategy, translating regional priorities into actionable country plans, and ensuring strong performance across sales, marketing, and market development.
The position represents the company to key clinical, governmental, and industry stakeholders while driving improved access to therapies and expanding market presence. It oversees distributor management, compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and operational efficiency. A key focus is also placed on developing talent, fostering high-performing teams, and building strong relationships with medical leaders and strategic partners.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Lead the country organization to achieve short- and long-term profit and loss objectives while shaping and executing the overall go-to-market strategy.
Translate higher-level regional strategy into country-specific commercial plans, including sales, marketing, market development, and organizational development to meet targets.
Represent Medtronic externally with key clinical and non-clinical stakeholders, government authorities, regulators, health insurers, patient groups, industry organizations, and senior hospital management.
Drive market growth by identifying opportunities to improve access to therapies, expand market share, and enable cross-portfolio selling in key accounts.
Strengthen relationships with leading medical experts, medical societies, distributors, and important customer accounts.
Optimize country operations by ensuring effective functional support, managing distributor contract negotiations and renewals, and contributing to accurate forecasting.
Ensure compliance and support talent development, overseeing adherence to legal and regulatory requirements and participating in hiring, performance management, coaching, and organizational talent planning.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
High-level university degree in business, sciences, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant sales experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant sales and leadership experience.
Advanced experience in sales, business development, and leadership within the healthcare sector, including leading cross-department projects or managing across multiple functions or regions.
Strong technical and professional knowledge with a solid understanding of broader organization.
Proven experience in managing people, including building, motivating, and developing teams.
Demonstrated success in driving and managing organizational change.
Native Slovak language and Fluent English
Master of Business Administration or a master’s degree in business or economics is preferred.
