Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Analyze financial data, financial statements, financial projections and historical loan collateral data and trends to determine the risks involved of extending credit to corporations and specialty purpose corporations. Calculate various financial ratios and other key performance indicators to assist in the evaluation of extending new credit and debt maturity extensions of existing credit facilities. Make comparisons and analysis of key financial ratios and collateral performance trends with similar companies in the same industry or asset class. Perform qualitative risk assessment through detailed due diligence meetings with clients to assess quality of management, client credit underwriting and client collection procedures and controls. Collaborate with other investment bankers to determine viability of requested loans to new companies and/or special purpose corporations and determine appropriate structure and lending terms. Prepare detailed reports highlighting the risks involved and creditworthiness in extending credit to corporations. Recommend credit decisions to required approvers based on the detailed credit report. Collaborate with other professionals involved in the extension of credit which could include lawyers, rating agencies, 3rd party financial auditors. Develop and validate models used to assess the level of protection provided by the cash flow generated from the collateral related to the extension of credit. Review legal documents to ensure that documents mirror the credit approved terms and conditions. Manage the credit approval process. Train and mentor junior team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or related field of study plus 1 years of experience in the job offered as a Credit Risk Analyst, Ancillary Revenue Analyst, Revenue Management Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Credit Risk Analyst, Ancillary Revenue Analyst, Revenue Management Analyst, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Underwriting the credit risk of loans made on a non-recourse basis to specialty purpose corporations; Underwriting the credit risk of recourse loans made to finance companies which include auto lenders, mortgage lenders, REITs, credit card originators and merchant lenders; Calculating and interpreting financial ratios to determine the creditworthiness and probability of default of corporations; Analyzing and interpreting collateral trends and collateral performance data; Creating cash flow models to determine loss coverage, financing break-evens and ability to repay both recourse and non-recourse loans; Writing detailed reports which summarize collateral trends, financial ratios and creditworthiness of corporations to which credit is extended.
Job Location: 8181 Communications Pkwy, Plano, TX 75024. Up to 10% domestic and 10% international travel required to client sites. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
