Job Title: Commercial Intelligence Specialist

Location: Houston

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Power BI Development – Design, development, and optimisation of advanced dashboards, reports, and models within Power BI, ensuring usability and scalability across the business.  This includes local desktop development as well as in the Power BI / Fabric service.
• SQL & Data Modelling – Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to support analytics and reporting requirements.
• Cross-functional collaboration – Working with a variety of stakeholders and seniority levels to understand business problems and provide solutions through interactive self-service reports.
• Issue Resolution – Identify root cause of technical issues and responding to queries in a timely manner, including supporting other teams ad-hoc where necessary.
• Continuous Improvement – Stay current with Microsoft BI & Fabric updates, recommending and implementing improvements to data workflows and reporting.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s STEM degree
• 3+ years of experience in analytics roles.
• Expertise in Power BI – advanced DAX, data modelling, performance optimization, and deployment.
• Strong SQL skills with ability to optimize.
• Microsoft Excel skills for ad-hoc analysis.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric a plus.
• Strong communication and presentation skills - able to work effectively with others.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and deliver measurable business impact.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive nature.

Hybrid working

We work in a hybrid way at AVEVA. Most roles are based at a local AVEVA office, with an expectation of being on-site 50% of your working hours to support collaboration and connection. Some positions are fully office-based depending on the nature of the work, and certain roles that support specific customers or markets may be remote.
