We are a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated, niche-driven, commercial insurance brokerage located in Marcellus, NY, just outside Syracuse. We place our client’s protection with risk mitigation strategies and service excellence above all else, we have a great team culture and we are looking for the right person to join and contribute.

Purpose of the Role

We are conducting a strict and selective search for a Commercial Insurance Placement Specialist within our Commercial Lines department. This position is a technical role responsible for managing the marketing and placement process for renewals and new business. The individual must bring strong insurance knowledge, analytical ability, and accuracy in execution. We are open to hiring at either the Marketing Specialist or Senior Marketing Specialist level, depending on experience. Candidates who demonstrate advanced placement ability, strong carrier relationships, and independent execution skills may be considered for the senior title.

Requirements

The ideal candidates will:

  • Have at least 3 years of commercial insurance marketing experience (5+ for senior-level consideration).
  • Understand the marketing process from start to finish, including renewal strategy, coverage comparison, and binding.
  • Be proactive, analytical thinkers who can identify and explain differences between coverage forms.
  • Be comfortable collaborating with both internal teams and carrier partners.
  • Show evidence of critical thinking and accuracy in prior work history, not just years of experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in navigating the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • 3+ years experience in the insurance industry specifically in marketing required.
  • NYS P&C License is required.
  • Insurance Industry designation or advanced training preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive nature with problem solving
  • Detail Oriented 
  • Positive approach to all aspects of the job, department, and Agency
  • Experience with Applied EPIC preferred
  • Strong Relationship Building Skills
  • Strong Multi-tasker
