Commercial GTM Finance Manager

This is an opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager with a strong background in the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry to join our Commercial Finance team. This crucial role will support our go-to-market (GTM) departments, including Sales, Marketing, and GTM Support organizations, and will play a key role in strategic financial planning and decision-making.
This position will serve to grow and enhance the Couchbase Finance team’s ability to meet the growing demand for financial partnership and cross-functional support from our global GTM Organization. The role will report to the Director of Global GTM Finance and will have regular and frequent exposure to multiple levels of senior leadership within our Finance, Sales, Marketing and Professional Services organizations.
Responsibilities
· Finance partner for GTM teams with Sales, Marketing, and GTM Support functions.
· Work closely with GTM business and Revenue Operations to analyze historical performances and assist in the strategic planning and forecasting for future growth, focusing on sales bookings and ARR by region and worldwide. Review ROI to identify trends and actionable recommendations.
· Support the broader Finance team with budgeting and forecasting for the GTM departments, incorporating detailed analyses on sales bookings, ARR, and ROI by region and worldwide to support data-driven decision-making. This includes translating proactively assisting bookings to ARR and recognized revenue.
· Present analysis and ROI with storytelling and insights that drive significant impact or create change. The presentations include GTM partners, including executives and Finance peers.
Qualifications
· 8+ years of professional experience in FP&A or investment banking, specifically within the SaaS sector.
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or economics.
· Independent work and analysis with minimal guidance of Director of Commerical Finance.
· Proven GTM business partner with comprehensive understanding of SaaS Enterprise bookings, ARR and revenue recognition principles.
· Mastery in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools (NetSuite, Pigment) to building complex financial models
· Ability of handling large datasets through usage of SQL and Python.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of simplifying and effectively communicating complex concepts.
· Demonstrated capability to build relationships and influence decisions at all management levels across various functions.
· Established as a trusted and objective advisor with extensive experience in strategic decision-making and execution.
The anticipated starting base pay range for this role is listed below. Base salary is not the only component of our competitive total rewards package - you may also be eligible for bonus, commissions, equity, and other benefits as described below. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
