Commercial Finance Manager
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Finance Manager, a role Act as an integral business partner to the leading arm of the business. The role will provide commercial support, develop commercial proposals & tenders, and help shape these core growth platforms for the business.
The successful candidate will also support the pricing team in the execution of pricing strategies across national, key and street customers through; analysis and understanding of both raw material, foreign exchange impact, internal supply chain costs and market trends.

Key Accountabilities:
- Financial Management and reporting of earned income
- Business Partner to the Commercial Director and the senior commercial owners of the business
- Provide support to the Merchandising Director and their team
- Leadership and direction of the Commercial Finance team to build on and expand the business partnering programme.
- Oversee a team of commercial administrators to ensure accuracy of reporting, price uploads and various commercial support functions
- Drive consistent and clear reporting on a weekly and monthly basis to the Executive team and the Business units showing true underlying performance vs plan and forecast (including FX impact, volume changes, cost inflation, discounts, rebates and waste)
- Commercial proposal ownership, including pricing sign off, decision making through provision of P&Ls, working across the business to ensure all inputs are accurate
- Building and mapping Financial Evaluation documents for new business tenders and providing guidance and insight on appropriate price submission for successful pipeline and tender conversion
- Engage in SKU reviews, promotional planning, ROI analysis, rebates & commercial tenders
- Support the governance and control process for all pricing related processes
- Working with the procurement and supply chain teams to understand true cost, market cost, FX impacts and cost of supply for all products and building into a fit for purpose cost file to support both structured price changes and ad hoc product listings or basket amendments
- Designing, implementing and maintaining benchmarking and market price guidance for both internal and external customers and both existing and proposed customer baskets
- Understanding, controlling and communicating internal cost of goods levels to the business ensuring market relevant costs for informed pricing decisions
- Deliver and measure intelligent margin improvements
- Working closely with the support of the Purchasing and Marketing departments in order to provide clear market justification data that supports and embellishes the price review process on a seasonal, monthly & ad hoc basis
- Report on sales metrics, suggest improvements and devise action plans
- Project Management of internal projects to drive change and improvements to the overall commercial finance function.
- Development, maintenance and calculation of all incentive programmes within the business
- Develop the team, identifying training and development needs and providing an environment for growth.
Requirements:
Experience working within a fast-moving environment working to tight deadlines
- Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACA / ACCA) with 5-7 years PQE
- Strong leadership qualities with a track record in leading and managing teams
- Proven ability to manage and organise own, and teams workload
- Strong analytical skills (MS Excel)
- Strong presentation skills (MS PowerPoint)
- Strategic thinker
- Ability to build and develop collaborative relationships and to influence stakeholders
- Excellent Communicator
- Strong Analytical skills
- Self-starter with a high level of motivation
- Resilient attitude and desire to see things through to completion.
- Attention to detail
- Excellent project management and leadership experience with strong relationship building skills
- Experience of assessing commercial proposals and giving recommendations
- High competency in MS Excel and database systems with proven track record
