Job Description

This hybrid role offers a great balance of home and office working. You’ll join your colleagues in our London office at least 2 days a week.

As the UK’s largest fibre-only network, and its only proven wholesale challenger, we’re busy setting new standards for what digital infrastructure can and should be.

Designed from scratch for the internet, our network is greener, more reliable and ready for the future. The products we provide over it not only lead the market on speed, value and service, they help businesses to innovate, provide entire communities with a better foundation for their digital lives and support economic growth, locally and nationally.

What does that mean for you? The opportunity to make internet connections (and daily life) a whole lot better, for a lot of people!

Joining us as a Commercial Finance Analyst

In this role, you will be responsible for providing internal and external reporting on BDUK CAPEX spend, collaborating with the business to enhance data governance, and supporting transformation and automation projects.

You’ll receive a competitive salary, a performance related bonus, and a range of benefits to support you across your financial, physical and mental wellbeing.

This is some of what you can expect to be doing:

  • Produce monthly CAPEX cost reports for BDUK external stakeholders.
  • Address CAPEX spend queries from external BDUK stakeholders related to subsidised build areas.
  • Develop internal reporting capabilities to manage capital spend and identify risks early.
  • Build relationships and support external BDUK stakeholders with queries and analysis.
  • Ensure subsidy data is accurate and aligned with live build plans.
  • Support process transformation and automation of reporting within the commercial BDUK space.

What you’ll bring to the role

You will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to change. With a proactive approach, you will take ownership of reporting tasks and make an immediate, meaningful impact. You’ll also have:

  • Strong Excel modelling skills, creating robust, scalable models that reflect real-world scenarios.
  • Experience providing high-quality financial insights that go beyond standard reporting.
  • Commercially astute with strong influencing skills and the ability to build credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Skilled at drawing conclusions from complex, varied data sets.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and handle expectations with resilience.
  • Excellent communicator, able to present clearly and prioritise relevant information.
  • Strategic thinker, able to balance long-term goals with short-term priorities.
