Azenta Life Sciences is seeking a Commercial Finance & AI Analytics Analyst to join our growing and dynamic organization. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager for the Multiomics and Synthesis Solutions business known as GENEWIZ, this position will provide FP&A support to the U.S. Commercial organization. The analyst will work closely with the Sr. Director of North America Sales as well as other Commercial and Finance counterparts to provide timely and actionable information to drive growth and profitability of the business. In this strategic role, the analyst will develop, analyze, and distribute financial reports used in the day-to-day financial planning and analysis of the Commercial organization.  The analyst will perform technical analysis to determine past, present, and future financial performance, offering insights and recommendations to the relevant stakeholders and leadership teams. This role will partner with business leaders to develop strategic plans and build business cases for new opportunities. This critical position within the Multiomics FP&A team holds key responsibilities include pacing and tracking of sales actuals and targets, driving Commercial Finance process improvements, partnering with Commercial, Commercial Operations, and Marketing teams in bi-weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting.

What You’ll Do…

  • Design, develop, and maintain AI-enabled forecasting models & reporting to improve revenue, bookings, and demand planning accuracy.
  • Build automated reporting solutions and KPI dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce Analytics, and other BI platforms.
  • Leverage AI and machine learning capabilities to identify trends, risks, revenue opportunities, customer behaviors, and commercial performance patterns.
  • Develop self-service analytics tools that empower Commercial leaders to access insights without manual report creation.
  • Utilize Generative AI technologies (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Power BI Copilot, etc.) to accelerate analysis, summarize performance drivers, and improve executive reporting.
  • Partner with Technology and Data Engineering teams to establish scalable data pipelines and automate data collection, validation, and reporting workflows.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing manual processes through automation and advanced analytics solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve financial planning, commercial operations, and decision support capabilities.
  • Provide proactive analysis of commercial performance against plans, forecasts, and targets.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting cycles using automated planning and analytical tools.
  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to Commercial Leadership regarding revenue growth, pricing, profitability, customer trends, and market opportunities.
  • Assist with development of annual operating plans, strategic plans, and long-range forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Operations on incentive compensation analytics, territory performance analysis, and sales productivity reporting.
  • Support executive-level reporting, including business reviews, Board presentations, and strategic planning materials.
  • Develop advanced pricing analytics and opportunity prioritization models to support go-to-market strategies.
  • Lead enterprise-level AI adoption initiatives within Finance and Commercial organizations.
  • Develop predictive modeling and scenario planning capabilities using AI and advanced analytics platforms.
  • Create next-generation commercial intelligence solutions that integrate financial, customer, and operational data.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives that modernize reporting, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
  • Serve as a thought leader in advancing Finance's use of AI, automation, and data-driven insights.
  • Annual planning process including the development of targets, timelines, templates and required deliverables and consolidation of the Annual Operating Plan
  • Preparation of executive presentations, including monthly operating reviews and analysis used for Board updates and investor presentations
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of Commercial Finance cadences and reporting to drive strategic growth
  • Leading data, process, and reporting improvement initiatives; collaborate with Technology to automate and simplify
  • Development of Strategic pricing and key opportunity reporting alongside recommendations to business to implement in market strategies
  • Be a thought leader in tracking market trends and dynamics while having access to leading market intelligence
  • Open ended ability to drive data driven decisions throughout all levels of the org through thoughtful analysis and presentation

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Commercial Finance, Business Intelligence, Analytics, or related disciplines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Excel, and data visualization best practices.
  • Experience building automated reporting solutions and interactive dashboards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
  • Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources.
  • Experience utilizing AI and machine learning tools in business analytics or financial planning environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Copilot, Azure AI Services, Microsoft Copilot, Databricks, Alteryx, Python, R, or similar advanced analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, NetSuite, OneStream, and modern cloud data environments.
  • Experience developing predictive forecasting models and automated decision-support tools.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, Agile, or process improvement certifications preferred.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and enterprise reporting frameworks.
  • Passion for AI, automation, and continuous process improvement.
  • Strong business partnership and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence decision making through data storytelling and visual analytics.

Working Conditions/ Schedule

  • 4 days on-site in South Plainfield, NJ. Remote on Fridays

United States Base Compensation: $115,000.00 - $144,000.00

The posted pay range for this position is an estimate based on current market data and internal pay structure. Final compensation may vary above or below this range depending on factors such as experience, education (including licensure and certifications),  qualifications, performance, and geographic location, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
