As an Commercial Examiner, you will be responsible for researching ownership history of various parcels of land by researching the public records and prepare and/or verify that the title package was set up appropriately based on the findings within the abstract and state regulations.
About the role
Interpret and/or map metes and bounds legal descriptions
Review title documents to complete title commitments
Abstract property to determine ownership history, liens, encumbrances, etc. using various resources
Consult local agencies or underwriters in various states on local property law and insurability
Consult with local offices, underwriters, and escrow to clear title issues
Effectively manage queue of files/orders
Assist closers, closer assistants, clients, and leadership with any questions
Consistently meet minimum production goal numbers and quality metrics
About you
Minimum Qualifications
1+ years’ experience abstracting and/or examining
Familiarity with real property law
Proficiency with Data Trace and various county property and tax databases
Flexible to work hours and events
Ability to multitask and organize large workloads
Great attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of RamQuest
