Hempel, a global leader in coatings and paints, is seeking for a Commercial Enablement Specialist, in Marine Segment. In this role you will be instrumental in driving our growth strategies and be an important member and enabler of our global sales organization and will be critical to the overall productivity of the Marine segment. You will design, scale and continuously evolve the capability of our global sales team. This role sits at the intersection of commercial excellence and operational efficiency systems – building the frameworks, tools and coaching infrastructure that allow a diverse multi-regions sales team to sell with commercial rigor and technical capabilities and consistency across markets and ensuring global alignment of performance to delivery on key priorities and financial objectives.

Commercial Excellence and Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with sales leaders to embed commercial excellence rigor to enhance individual and team capabilities that include deal review cadence, pricing discipline and win/loss analysis

  • Partner with sales leaders and global cross functional teams to identify needs and gather input for global salesforce effectiveness

  • Monitor & drive performance and analysis for key customers and projects

  • Lead continuous improvement through review-reflect-revise loop, using sales performance data to drive productivity improvement and resources prioritization for revenue growth opportunities

Change Management and Global Rollout

  • Lead the rollout of global new commercial initiatives and tools across regions, adapting content and pacing to local maturity and culture

  • Act as a bridge between global commercial strategy and regional execution realities

Systems and Tools Enablement and Process Discipline

  • Drive CRM adoption and pipeline quality and consistency through sales’ buy-in and conduct regular sales and pipeline analysis with sales teams

  • Contribute and participation in sales management meetings and facilitate growth acceleration activities across key accounts, regional customers and turnaround action plans on low profitability accounts

  • Partnering Sales Leaders in enhancing processes and tools used for commercial operations

  • Monitor industry leading practices and evolving trends and drive appropriate adoption

Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Opportunity to work with leadership team to redefine key competencies of our sales organization by translating system data into actionable coaching insights

  • Become a key partner on key commercial aspects such as pricing, profitability analysis and recommendations and market segment analytics

  • Model the company’s values in all internal and external dealings, exhibiting desired behaviors and approaches in all business activities

In this role, you will report to the Head of Commercial Enablement (Greater China/Korea). You will collaborate with Commercial Enablement global functional heads to ensure a high degree collaboration with your peers across regions for best practices sharing. You will be joining a dedicated global team situated in different locations and driving similar agendas in their respective segments and geographies. You will be based in Hempel Office in Singapore, or in other Hempel Offices in the region, and have up to 30% of travel activity.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • More than 6 years of relevant experience in sales operations/field sales experience/commercial excellence, ideally within marine industry

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Economics, Data Science or Shipping

  • Hands on experience with CRM platforms and sales performance analytics and demonstrated experience in data analysis, reporting and technology implementations

  • Agile with Excel (large data set analysis) and good capabilities with Power BI

  • Strong team member to develop deep collaborations with internal stakeholders to build, operate and lead a best-in-class operational team to deliver targeted outcomes

  • Strong communicator who has the experience of operating and collaborating in matrixed MNC structure with diverse stakeholders including senior leadership

  • Good level of Mandarin and any other regional languages will be a significant plus

Skills Required

  • More than 6 years of relevant experience in sales operations, field sales or commercial excellence
  • Experience within the marine industry
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Economics, Data Science or Shipping
  • Hands-on experience with CRM platforms and sales performance analytics
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, reporting and technology implementations
  • Advanced Excel skills (large dataset analysis)
  • Good capabilities with Power BI
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to operate in a matrixed multinational organization
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage senior leadership
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%
