More about the role


The Commercial Effectiveness Manager Europe will be responsible for defining, tracking and actively steering European Integral Growth Margin (IGM), commercial value performance and Commercial Policy compliance.

The Manager will be implementing performance and governance measures in the European contact to the global team and functional lead to the European Revenue Growth Managers (RGMs) on performance (KPIs) and compliance, as well as setup implementation and improvements.

Will be reporting into the European Commercial Excellence Leader and will require close collaboration with the RGMs, the Cluster Leads, and global-level counterparts to analyze European trade term adherence, optimize pricing, promotions Return on Investments (ROI), and deliver actionable insights to drive profitable growth.

Key Areas of Responsibility
 

1. Commercial Policy (CP) Governance & Compliance:

  • Ensures adherence to commercial rules and protect value realization at regional level by monitoring compliance, identifying deviations.
  • Own regional compliance & control mechanisms (guardrails, approvals, policy enforcement), Performance discipline (leakage tracking, deviation analysis) Intervention frameworks (escalations, audits, incentives/penalties).
  • Partner with cluster RGMs in CP execution and define corrective actions with RGMs to comply with CP guidelines

2. Setup Implementation & Improvements:

  • Set up and own regional implementation plans and ensure consistent, timely, and disciplined rollout across clusters with the RGMs.
  • Defining requirements together with the RGMs for process framework, tooling and reporting.

3. European Value Realization & Performance Management:

  • Monitor and report on relevant regional KPIs during monthly European Performance Reviews (MPRs).
  • Work closely with the RGMs on plans around performance management in the clusters.
  • Act as the cluster exceptions approver for pricing, trade terms, listing and exclusions, and promotions (incl. slow moving obsolete stock (SMOS)), ensuring discipline, transparency, and compliance.

4. Functional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as the main contact for global teams on regional CP and pricing topics, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Building a community with the Cluster RGMs (dotted line reporting structure) to drive performance and compliance reviews, address enablement gaps, and provide ongoing support.

Critical Experiences

  • Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 10-12 years of professional experience in Marketing Management, Pricing Management, Commercial Policy, Business Analytics, Finance and related functions
  • Proven track record in implementing and governing margin mix, trade terms, and pricing improvements
  • Ability to drive governance, discipline, and cross-functional alignment and cooperation in complex organization
  • High flexibility, initiative, resilience, and assertiveness
  • Excellent communication skills, confident appearance and interaction with MT level colleagues, market functions and within the Commercial Excellence team
  • High degree of self-motivation, independence, drive and "positive charisma", "can do" mentality. Strong analytical, LEAN, and conceptual skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, SAP, Helios, Vistex (other IT skills are an advantage). Very good understanding of company internal processes, correlations and stakeholder management, strategic mindset with a focus on driving value extraction and commercial excellence

Skills Required
