GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Credit Analyst Program analyst will participate in a structured training program designed to develop foundational credit skills and prepare for independent underwriting and portfolio management responsibilities. Under the guidance of experienced credit professionals, the analyst will support the underwriting and monitoring of commercial credit relationships by analyzing companies, performing financial analysis, building financial models and assisting with covenant tracking. 

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Successfully complete formal training program and participate in ongoing training opportunities.

  • Support Portfolio Managers and/or Underwriters in the underwriting and monitoring of credit by performing analytical tasks.

  • Demonstrate the ability to assess credit risk using financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, industry analysis, collateral analysis, guarantor analysis and loan structure analysis via Credit Authorization Memo (CAM).

  • Perform accounting, business and legal due diligence for new and existing clients.

  • Build financial models to analyze historical financial performance and credit trends. 

  • Understand and utilize complex financial models to build projections.

  • Draft deal screens / opportunity memos.

  • Assist in monitoring covenant compliance by tracking and identifying out-of-compliance covenants, while learning to recommend appropriate actions.

  • Run Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD) models.

  • Responsible for understanding and evaluating completed financial statement spreads.

  • Monitor borrower performance by draft periodic reviews with rating and direction of risk recommendations

  • Create high-impact presentation materials using PowerPoint, Excel, Word and other relevant software programs. Demonstrate proficiency in the policies, systems, tools and technology platforms used to support credit underwriting, portfolio management, and risk assessment.

  • Handle special assignments/projects assigned by department managers.

  • Build an extensive network of contacts within Commercial and support divisions.

  • Communicate effectively with deal team members on status and prioritization of projects.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Graduating Class of 2027, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future

  • Minimum GPA 3.3

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply financial and accounting concepts in credit analysis

  • Relevant internship experience in banking, credit, or financial analysis preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn while also embracing AI tools and technology

Compensation:

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the US. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
