Responsibilities

About the role:

The Commercial Credit Analyst II – Underwriting is responsible for analyzing the financial performance and creditworthiness of automotive dealerships, preparing credit recommendations, and supporting lending decisions while ensuring compliance with company policies and risk management standards. This role partners with dealers and internal stakeholders to gather and evaluate financial data, mitigate risk, and deliver accurate credit proposals that support business growth and portfolio quality

In this role you will: 

  • Accurately analyze financial statements of automotive dealerships and affiliates including fixed charged coverage ratio, bank reconciliation, assigning accurate risk ratings and provide appropriate recommendations to mitigate risk
  • Interfacing with customers and internal/external stakeholders to obtain data to complete analysis
  • Prepare accurate and concise proposals/modifications for credit committee approval

  • Extensive knowledge of accounting, financial statement analysis, cash flow and dealer workout
  • Knowledge of dealership, fleet/commercial and indirect auto finance industry operations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of reporting and analytics
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com
  • Understanding of commercial lending with emphasis in captive automotive dealership financing
  • Understanding of dealer operations
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management
  • Ability to make sound business decisions based on policies and procedures
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Customer service skills
  • Detailed oriented and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously

Additional Knowledge and Skills

  • Working effectively within an AI enabled environment:  
  • Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work
  • Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
  • Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights
  • Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection 
     

Work Experience & Education 

  • 3-5 years of directly related experience in financial analysis and experience in automotive dealership commercial lending environment preferred
  • High School Diploma
  • Associate Degree
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or in related field or equivalent work experience required
  • Master’s Degree
