In this role you will:
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of high-performing Relationship Managers while also engaging with clients and driving business development
- Provide expertise on 'the art of commercial relationship management' including anticipating business needs, navigating decision-makers, managing expectations, and driving proactive, value-added communication.
- Oversee financial analyses, client presentations, and partner engagement, ensuring thoughtful risk assessment and a unified approach across stakeholders.
- Serve as a strategic advisor internally and externally, shaping the priorities, approach and execution of the team to deepen and expand client relationships as well as acquire new relationships.
- Guide the structuring, modification, and renewal of credit including cash-flow, real estate, and industry-specific solutions.
- Represent Wells Fargo externally with clients, prospects, and the community to advance the business's strategic objectives.
- Exercise good judgement and serve as a trusted escalation point for employees and clients.
- Champion process enhancement and risk discipline, identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, streamline workflow, and elevate consistency across Commercial Banking Relationship Management.
- Interpret, implement, and refine policies and procedures within your area of responsibility to drive clarity, alignment, and disciplined execution.
- Influence across the organization, collaborating with senior leaders, and driving value-added partnerships.
- Optimize and allocate resources, ensuring people, budget, and operational priorities align with business goals.
- Cultivate a strong talent pipeline, foster a high-performance culture, and mentor emerging leaders in support of long-term organizational capability.
- Drive relationship planning and pipeline discipline, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all relevant systems and enabling clear visibility into sales activities, opportunities, and portfolio trends.
- Partner with Commercial Lending Product Management to bring market intelligence, client insights, and strategic perspective to enterprise-level initiatives. Influence product strategies and financial operations through deep understanding of client needs and competitive dynamics.
- Lead your team in delivering the full Wells Fargo platform, establishing best practices for partnering with product groups, understanding client businesses, and aligning solutions to their strategic, operational, and financial priorities.
- Guide the team in supporting Business Development Representatives to source, win, and grow Commercial Banking relationships. Focus on long-term, profitable client acquisition through strategic leadership, industry expertise, superior execution, and exceptional client experience.
- 7+ years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
- Deep expertise in core commercial banking products and services, including commercial lending, treasury management, and related financial solutions
- Completion of a formal credit training program, reflecting advanced analytical capability and sound credit judgment
- Proven history of managing high-value commercial relationships within the $25MM to $100MM revenue segment, delivering strategic guidance and tailored financial solutions that drive client outcomes
- Established professional network within the city of Nashville, TN and Louisville, KY markets
- Ability to provide strategic leadership and oversight to a team of Commercial Bankers, driving business development, portfolio growth and relationship management initiatives and objectives
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a strong, cohesive team culture, fostering engagement, collaboration, and performance excellence
- Experience leading high-performing teams and supporting long-term professional development
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across business lines, ensuring clients and prospects experience the full breadth of Wells Fargo's capabilities
- Demonstrated success in generating new client relationships, cultivating long-standing partnerships
- Strong risk discipline and experience identifying, mitigating, and managing risk, with consistent adherence to policies, controls, and regulatory requirements
