At Virgin Atlantic Airways, we believe that everyone can take on the world, and it’s our vision to become the most loved travel company.

Virgin Atlantic Holidays is entering an ambitious phase of growth, focused on expanding our market presence and strengthening our commercial performance in a competitive travel landscape.

To deliver that ambition, we are investing in advanced analytics, automation and data-driven planning to improve commercial performance and strategic decision-making. This role plays a central part in that investment.

In a nutshell

As a Commercial Analyst, you’ll join the Business Analysis & Planning team, responsible for delivering commercial insight, forecasting and performance analysis across Virgin Atlantic Holidays.

This is not a traditional reporting role. You will design and build analytical tools that directly inform pricing, trading and strategic planning decisions.

You’ll build scalable analytics, automation and AI-enabled insight that influences trading, forecasting and long-term strategy across multiple functions, helping shape the future direction of our commercial analytics capability. Operating at the intersection of data, automation and commercial performance, you’ll help the business move from hindsight to foresight, working closely with Commercial, Product, Retail and Tech Ops and contributing directly to cross-functional and leadership decision forums.

Beyond building tools, you’ll act as a strategic partner: shaping conversations, challenging assumptions and helping define both near-term actions and longer-term growth direction. The outputs you create won’t just sit in dashboards, they’ll sit in planning cycles, QBRs and strategic decision forums.

You will join at a pivotal stage of growth, with the opportunity to influence how analytics supports the next phase of commercial expansion. If you want your analytical capability to influence real business decisions at scale and help define how insight operates in the future, this is that opportunity.

Day to day

As Commercial Analyst, you will:

  • Design and develop scalable data models, dashboards, AI and automation solutions using Databricks and Power BI

  • Build scenario models and foresight tools that influence pricing, margin trade-offs and long-term strategic direction

  • Translate complex datasets into clear, structured recommendations for senior stakeholders

  • Provide structured analysis to support quarterly business reviews, annual planning and commercial initiatives

  • Identify and prioritise opportunities to modernise how VAH uses data — embedding automation and AI into the core of how decisions are made

  • Safeguard data integrity and promote strong governance standards across analytics

  • Partner cross-functionally across VAH to ensure insight translates into measurable revenue, margin and performance outcomes

  • Contribute to discussions that shape investment decisions and commercial priorities

About you

We’re looking for someone who combines technical capability with commercial ambition.

You’re motivated by solving complex problems, influencing decisions and being part of something evolving, not maintaining the status quo.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong SQL capability, with experience writing complex queries across large datasets
  • Experience building analytical models, dashboards and scenario-based analysis
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake or similar)
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience using Python for data analysis or automation is desirable, but not essential
  • The ability to connect data to business context and articulate clear, confident recommendations
  • Experience working in commercially driven environments where priorities may shift based on performance and market conditions
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and act independently

Experience in travel, aviation or commercial performance environments is advantageous, but not essential. We’re equally interested in sharp analytical thinkers from other sectors who are ambitious, curious and ready to step into a high-impact role.

Most importantly, you want your work to matter, and you’re excited by the opportunity to help define how a growing business uses data, automation and AI to compete and win.

What We Do

Virgin Atlantic first took to the skies in 1984 to shake things up, bringing a sparkle of red, a touch of wit and a passion for flying to the grey world of airlines. We fell in love with creating the best experience in the skies for our customers, and they fell in love with us right back. Since then we’ve become Britain’s second largest carrier, with non-stop transatlantic routes including New York, Orlando, the Caribbean, Delhi and Johannesburg. And thanks to our hugely successful joint venture with Delta, Air France and KLM, we can seamlessly connect our customers to over 350 cities across North America, Europe and the UK. Today, we want to empower everyone to take on the world. The customers we proudly fly and our people who go the extra mile. As we embark on a brand spanking new era of travel, it gives us more opportunities to do things differently and lead the way with fresh ideas. This means becoming more sustainable for our planet and our destinations, and working hard to make travel open to everyone, no matter who you are, who you love or where you go. And of course never, ever, forgetting the small stuff - like the clink of champagne glasses on a special occasion or a cheeky cream tea at 30,000 feet.
