The Opportunity
We are seeking a Commercial Analyst to support our Commercial team in Morgantown, WV. This is an opportunity to be a key player in our financial strategy, where you'll track and forecast revenue from oil and gas sales and analyze market trends to help us make smart business decisions. You'll build models, collaborate with our production and accounting teams, and use your analytical skills to contribute directly to our success.
Location
This role is a hybrid position based out of our office in Morgantown, WV and will be expected work onsite in the office three days per week.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Monitor and forecast revenue streams from oil, gas, and NGL sales, while concurrently tracking and projecting fees and expenses related to gathering, processing, and transportation.
- Maintain accurate records of all current gas, condensate, and NGL sale agreements.
- Conduct ad-hoc research and analysis related to oil and gas market fundamentals, regulatory changes, and industry trends.
- Build and maintain system flow and utilization models.
- Coordinate with the production and planning team to monitor production forecasts.
- Collaborate with the accounting team in executing month-end closing activities.
Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in commercial analysis, business analysis, or a related field within the oil and gas industry strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets.
- Proficiency in visualization tools is a plus (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with vendors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Working Conditions
- Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.
- Interaction with team members and external contacts is a regular part of the job.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting meetings.
- Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
- Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
