What you will do in this role

The Commercial Analyst; Marketing, reporting to the Vice President of Marketing will provide in-depth market analysis centered around customers, pricing and segmentation and help turn data into direction for the marketing team. You will lead the evolution of customer and market data analysis to provide the marketing team with a clear understanding of both. 


Responsibilities  

  • Produce recurring and ad hoc reporting and analysis that supports overall marketing strategy and annual planning
  • Build and maintain dashboards that give leadership and the field a consistent view of program performance, pricing position, and share movement
  • Coordinate across functional disciplines to routinely analyze purchase quantity, gross and net purchases, and profitability at every level of the customer hierarchy — from national account down to individual retail location
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, and Marketing to provide visibility and actionable recommendations to the field, including in-season program guidance during peak selling windows
  • Conduct market sizing, segmentation, and competitive analysis to support product positioning and new product launch decisions
  • Monitor industry trends, pricing dynamics, generic entry timing, and competitor activity; flag developments that warrant a strategic response
  • Track post-launch product performance against forecast and identify the drivers behind variances
  • Translate findings into clear, concise recommendations for marketing leadership — the deliverable is a decision, not a data dump
  • Own data quality and definitional consistency across marketing reporting so the numbers hold up in cross-functional conversations

Required Skills/Qualifications 

  • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in FP&A, Marketing, Consulting, Economics, or other relevant fields is required. Experience in chemical manufacturing preferred but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, or other relevant fields is required
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups), MS PowerPoint (charts, graphs)
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze, simplify and communicate data
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proactive communication skills along with strong initiative and balanced judgment
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Organizational skills with superior attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate across multiple functional disciplines  
  • Excellent computation skills to make calculations with good speed and accuracy
  • Adaptable and entrepreneurial with a background in a dynamic, fast‐moving business environment
